Has anyone seen this? I noticed it on a torrent site and wasn't even aware it existed... Welcome, larry. It's been around a while. I don't recall what the specific differences are, but as I recall there is more criticism of Yoko in it and some other interviews are extended. I think "director's cut" is a misnomer. I think it's more of an earlier version.

Thanks for the replies all. I found it on youtube. There are lots of bits that wasn't in the official. It's actually pretty interesting stuff. It's funny that during the "In my life" intro Allan Klein is shown during the montage. I bet Paul had that bit yanked out!
Here's part one for anyone who wants to watch it

The intros of each segment is different, some different interviews wearing different clothes much of the some stories but with more comment on drugs and Yoko. One of the best parts is a more in depth segment with George Martin talking about A Day In The Life. I have a friend who lives out in Hollywood who was nice enough to make copies and send them to me. Worth having but I don't know if I'd pay the money some sites are asking for it!

I don't recall what the specific differences are, but as I recall there is more criticism of Yoko in it and some other interviews are extended. I think "director's cut" is a misnomer. I think it's more of an earlier version. Steve is correct as to its content. I have a copy of it. It was indeed an earlier version, that was subsequently edited down. Many of Paul's interviews (especially regarding the early years (1957-1962 period) are longer. One of his early interview sessions in this "cut" is in a location that was completely editied out of the final version. There is critcism of Yoko in interviews with them around the White Album/Get Back period that were a little cutting of her, so it is obvious why they were deleted from the final version. Yoko probably never saw them when she was given the version to approve prior to its release, but if she had, she probably would not have approved their inclusion in the final version. There is as I recall (I haven't looked at it for a few years now) some extended George Harrison interviews as well. I would have to view it all again to recall exactly the differences, but what I like about it is it is much longer than the released version, so the interviews are more plentiful and more informative on video. Though if I remember correctly, much of the extended interview dialogue on the early version is in print in the book version of the Anthology. There is nothing revelatory in the early version that we don't already know. And the music was obviously never remixed and remastered like it was for the final DVD version that was released, so the concert footage and soundtrack is pretty bland on the early version. If you are a real diehard fan, it is something you should have due to the extended interviews that have never appeared anywhere else. (They should have been included as special features on the final released version IMO)
