Just got an email message about the show at the Hollywood Bowl on March 30. Tickets go on sale tomorrow with prices from $50 to $350. Wish me luck.

Good luck, sayne!
I need to read Steve's Examiner Article on this because I wonder what Paul's got up his sleeve? Is he starting another mini-tour? Will he come to the Mid-West proper which means gigs in Chicago? Or is this a sentimental one-time gig?
This is a Macca Thread about the Hollywood Bowl so I can ask this here:
In the song "Rock Show," is the line,"long hair at Madison Square," a reference to The Concert For Bangladesh Desh when the musicians had longer hair? Was the line, "Rock and roll at the Hollywood Bowl," cleary a reference to the 1964 and 1965 Beatles' concerts there?

There was a rumour that he would be at this year's Isle of Wight festival, subsequently squashed.
I wouldn't have gone anyway.

Was the line, "Rock and roll at the Hollywood Bowl," cleary a reference to the 1964 and 1965 Beatles' concerts there? It was pretty frustrating, at first. My computer at work was sooooooo slow. I didn't get in until about 11 minutes after tickets went on sale. By that time, I could not get a pair of tickets. I then went for one at any price and a $350 ticket came up - too rarified for me. I gave up, but experience told me that there was a very good likelihood that a second show would be added. I went back on 30 minutes later and lo and behold, a second show WAS added. I got in, but again couldn't get a pair of tickets. So, I went for one again and got one for $200. Then, I tried to get another single and one came up for $250, but it was too far away from my other seat and I knew that my wife probably wouldn't want to sit by herself, so I passed. Then, I tried again and I scored a ticket right behind my seat! Lucky! Here is a link to see where I will be sitting: www.hollywoodbowl.com/tickets/seating-chart.cfmI'm in Section E, which is pretty good. As for your question, my sense has always been that they were not Beatle references, but rather simple references to famous concert sites.

Interesting. It's currently 8:33pm Los Angeles time. Looks like both shows have sold out OR they're holding some for the general public sale. Just for fun, I looked to see what I could get for the Phoenix, Arizona show. I could get a good pair of seats in section 112. Hmm. I guess Paul's not so big in Arizona.
I also just thought of this. I'm almost certain that vast amounts of tickets were NOT being sold and instead were being held for corporate sponsors, politicians, and other "elites." I'm thinking this because the Hollywood Bowl seats about 20,000. That's 40,000 for both shows. There cannot be that many people in the LA area who are members of Paul's website, nor do I think there are that many American Express card holders who are Paul fans or would go to the effort to try to get tickets. Not Paul's fault, but I think this is another example of either Ticketmaster's shady existence or promoter shenanigans.

.....I'm almost certain that vast amounts of tickets were NOT being sold and instead were being held for corporate sponsors, politicians, and other "elites." Yeah, the well dressed people at Paul concerts who only show any life whatsoever for Beatles' mega-hits(not though for the non-singles like "For No One," etc.) and "Band On The Run" and then just barely. It is a freebie night paid for by someone trying to buy their soul and they bring their trophy date(if they are lucky) or their junked-up wife who could care less about Paul but knows it is the hottest gig that night in that particular city. They talk through most of the show, including the John and George tributes, go to the bathroom or make martini runs during the new songs and leave before the final note sounds in the final encore. Yeah, those folks in their elite and/or corporate seating are why Paul's American audience seem lame compared to audiences in Europe, Asia and South America. At Columbus, Ohio in 2005, my seats were on stage left and situated so I could not only face the stage(which was within feet of me) but face the people in the front center. Man, I could spot thousands of the "armchair" Paul fans from those seats. They came to life on the aforementioned BOTR but when Paul did "Too Many People"(curiously announced as, "an old Wings number" ) they just sat on their hands while I am going completely wild, not expecting that song, nearly tearing off my clothes, trying to rush the stage knowing that this Ram classic is as close to hearing "Mumbo" live as I will ever get! But man do these folks bop to "All My Loving" or "Can't Buy Me Love."

The Beatles played Indy's State Fairgrounds but Paul would never play there. He played in 2002 the newer and cool looking, but concert challenged, Conseco Fieldhouse. I am not sure he is ever coming back to Indy although he played two concerts there in 89/90 and one in 2002. You lucky folks in CA and AZ.

Well, Steve reports that Paul is going to Miami and Puerto Rico. When the Mid-West proper Paul!? We love you here, you could sell out a dozen shows in Chicago!
Paul skipped Chicago in 1993 to my great surprise and disappointment(I saw him that tour up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin).
If he sounded like he did from Good Evening New York that would be fantastic. If he sounded like he did in Paris a few years back, forget it, I'd live with my 2002 and 2005 tour memories.

Be patient, although it's hard.

OK, so who from the board is going? I have a ticket to the second HB night so far. I bit the bullet on a pair of floor seats for AZ. Middle section, 19 rows back. Would like to be closer, and would especially love the soundcheck tix, but $1500 is just a tad out of my spending range... This will be show #12 for me. 89: Chicago 90: Seattle, Chicago 93: Vegas 02: Oakland, San Jose, Denver, Portland, Seattle 05: Portland 09: Vegas 10: Phoenix!

I like how you arranged your Paul concert attendance. Mine would be: 89: Chicago, Chicago(Gee, I don't know why I didn't make it three for three but I missed the third and final Chicago Dec. 1989 concert ;D ) 90: Indianapolis, Indianapolis, Chicago(Soldier Field, tour finale what a show!) 93: Milwaukee(in driving rain ;D ) 02: Chicago, Chicago, Indianapolis(hooked up before show with fellow poster ChuckE) 05: Chicago, Columbus(Ohio) Paul come back to Indy or Chicago!

'76 Madison Square Garden '89 Madison Square Garden '90 Texas Stadium (Irving, TX) '93 Alamodome (San Antonio, TX) '02 Madison Square Garden, Reunion Arena (Dallas, TX) '05 American Airlines Center (Dallas, TX) '09 CitiField, Cowboys Stadium Wow. After the '76 tour (when I was only 5 years old ) and subsequent drought from touring, I would have never expected that I would see Paul on stage a total of 9X!!!! I would love to make it an even 10, and even better if it's a concert with some historic undertones. So, here's hoping he comes to Denver and plays Red Rocks in 2010! 10 in '10!!!
