Boy, I find this to be one dull, dull, plodding album. I only enjoy 3 out of 10 songs here:
YOU THE ANSWER'S AT THE END THIS GUITAR (CAN'T KEEP FROM CRYING)
I'd say THIS GUITAR is the best song on the LP.
I'm curious to hear positive opinions of this George album though. Any takers?

I bought it when it first came out.
I really liked the bobbly textured sleeve and the OHNOTHIMAGAIN picture. And YOU.

I remember getting the lp for Christmas- think it was '79.
I actually like Grey Cloudy Lies- a riff in it reminds me a little of Hey Jude

"You" has a winning melody for sure, but something about it doesn't convince me. It's like George trying to sound happy and contented when he was really miserable. And it was an older song, dusted off and recycled. The whole vibe of it just doesn't really suit him. Product for product's sake.

Tired of Midnight Blue and Can't Stop Thinking About You are great and perhaps the best songs on the album, You is great as well.

This is one album I don't own. I've been holding out for a CD with bonus tracks, though I think a better idea would be a two-for-one with DARK HORSE. I like "You". It was one of my favorites at the time it was released.

I bet this album will sound fantastic when it's remastered. It is what is it. Very textured. I love this album and think it's a great mood piece. I play it a lot around Christmas where it reminds me of when I received for the holiday in 1975. Light a fire, turn down the lights and have a glass of wine.

Funny you say that, I cannot listen to this album at night it has to be during the day. I know that sounds weird but it takes on a darker mood for me listening to it at night and I don't like it. Definitely a day album for me.

I love this LP, and always have. It's just a different sound for Harrison. It remains one of my favorites.
I hope that one day I'll get to hear a remastered version, but I'm not getting my hopes up that it will be anytime soon. I believe Dark Horse will be done first, followed by Extra Texture.

This is a collection of fantastic, moody songs that get deep into your system, but a really lousy album.
Any of these songs stand on their own, and would make terrific additions to an album by any other group or artist. But the cumulative effect of one slow, moody song after another really wears on you.
Standouts? Tired of Midnight Blue is amazing, so slinky. Answer's at the End...heck, they're all good! But he needs to pop in a little it more of A Little Bit More of You between each track to wake us up, so we can appreciate them!
Side 2 of Gone Troppo's kind of like this too. Someone needed to goose George.
Hey, whatever happened to "goosing" anyway?
