I admit I've always been fascinated with the Kennedy conspiracies (Sam Giancana the Chicago godfather did it -- P.S. Oliver Stone is an idiot who smoked too much pot). Now there is a legit conspiracy theory on the Kennedy assassination surrounding Sam Giancana. Apparenly Kennedy was banging Giancana's girlfriend Judith Campbell from before he was elected President in 1960 and it continued until late 1962. But you don't just go around banging a chief Chicago mobster's girlfriend and expect to get away with it. So supposedly the mob found someone who could not be tied to Giancana or the Mafia in any way, but who had his own supposed reasons for wanting Kennedy dead; a communist sympathizer who objected to Kennedy's Bay of Pigs fiasco to overturn Castro. And that was Oswald. So they supplied him with the gun, and arranged for him to do the hit when Kennedy visited Dallas and would drive right by where Oswald worked. And after Oswald was captured so quickly after the assassination (before the mob could silence him), to make sure Oswald would not spill his guts at a trial or later in prison, they arranged to have Jack Ruby take him out. Ruby was happy to take the rap for killing Oswald and kept his mouth shut right up until he died of cancer. This is one of the most plausible conspiracy theories surrounding the Kennedy assassination and makes a lot of sense.

This is one of the most plausible conspiracy theories surrounding the Kennedy assassination and makes a lot of sense. Oh no. My understanding was that Giancana purposely used one of his girlfriends, Judith Campbell, as sort of a conduit between him and Kennedy. The FBI, who was trailing Giancana at the time, came across numerous examples of Campbell spending a couple hours with Kennedy in a motel and then immediately going over to Giancana's place afterwards. They probably used her to pass messages (and probably big bags of money) back and forth. Also too, Kennedy was close to Frank Sinatra who was also one of Giancanna's best friends. The most plausable theory I've heard is that Papa Joe Kennedy (the old bootlegger with lifelong mob connections) asked Giancanna help to swing the election in Illinois during the Kennedy-Nixon campaign under the agreement that Kennedy would get rid of Castro in Cuba so the Mob could put their casinos back in there. When the Bay of Pigs invasion turned out to be a fiasco and Kennedy reneged on the deal, well, you just don't renege on deals with people like Giancanna. On top of that, Bobby Kennedy as attorney general -- who was an idiot that didnt' have a clue -- was going after the Mob in a heavy handed way. So thats all she wrote. Ruby, of course, the "patriotic" strip club owner, had lifelong connections with the Chicago and New Orleans mob. Not so surprising his phone records show many long distance phone calls from those areas in the days before he rubbed out Oswald in an obvious mob hit. You can imagine what they were telling Ruby in those phone calls. An offer he couldn't refuse, etc.

Not so surprising his phone records show many long distance phone calls from those areas in the days before he rubbed out Oswald in an obvious mob hit. You can imagine what they were telling Ruby in those phone calls. An offer he couldn't refuse, etc. I had heard and read about Joe Kennedy fixing the Chicago results with the help of Richard Daly to get Kennedy elected as well and the Bay of Pigs fiasco as related to organized crime. And his brother Bobby laying into Jimmy Hoffa (so who was really behind Sirhan's shooting Bobby in 1968?? and why did Jimmy Hoffa disappear in 1975?? Did they think he would rat out Giancana and spill the story of Kennedy's assassination or if there was anything more behind the Bobby K. assassination in 1968??). Hmm. But I thought Giancana didn't take kindly to sharing his girlfriend with Kennedy as well. At any rate, ALL of this makes so much sense as to who really was behind that assassination with Oswald used as a dumbass patsy by the mob who gave him the opportunity to kill Kennedy and let him think he was satisfying his own hatred of Kennedy with his political beliefs. I think the mob was surprised how quickly Oswald was apprehended after the assassination, and had to move fast to silence him before he implicated them in the shooting. And Ruby was their man. I think Sinatra and Peter Lawford knew the whole story behind the Kennedy assassination but they had to take the story to their graves or risk their own necks and careers. I just wonder if one of them has left the real story out there somewhere and it has yet to have been found..... And why Oliver Stone didn't focus his JFK movie on this theory, which was/is infinitely more plausible than what the movie currently depicts is beyond me.

I think the mob was surprised how quickly Oswald was apprehended after the assassination, and had to move fast to silence him before he implicated them in the shooting. And Ruby was their man. . I think the mob intended to rub out Oswald the patsy right after the assassination. Its never been explained how the Dallas police immediately had a full description of Oswald as the suspect practically moments after Kennedy was shot. Somebody tipped them off. And there was the mysterious incident of the shoot out between Oswald and J.D. Tippet, a cop with a murky background. My strong hunch (though this has never been proven) is that the mob dispatched Tippet with instructions to kill Oswald while pretending to arrest him. Unfortunately (for the mob) Oswald managed to kill Tippet. So, of course, they had to send in Ruby later to do the job. At any rate, I believe the Kennedy myth and the Beatles myth are the two great stories of the '60s. Delving a little bit under the surface of the commonly accepted history explains a lot about what happened to America in the '60s as well as the subsequent decades.
