I'm Andy. I'm a long time lurker. I'm from a lovely little quaint picture postcard village/hamlet just outside Liverpool called St.Helens. Close your eyes and picture lambs gambolling in a spring field, churches, chapels, tea with the vicar and salmon leaping! Just beautiful. That's a little joke for all the scousers on the board. ;D Though I currently live in Liverpool. I'm a sound engineer so as well as the music I'm interested in the recording side of The Beatles as well. Cheers

Well welcome again andyb! I said hello in a different Thread but I should have started here!
I am not a musician or a production guru but approach The Beatles more from a social, historical and cultural context. In other words, I love the music but cannot technically explain why!
I bet you can help us understand better some of the technical things that always pop up on the recording aspect of The Beatles!

Thanks John.
Yep. If you have any questions regarding recording techniques I will try to answer as best as I can. Not sure I can go into detail with regards to musical theory or exactly what instruments where used and such like.
I also have the Recording The Book as reference as well.
One of the best one hundred pounds I ever spent.
Expensive but life isn't worth living if you don't have these little luxuries.

Thanks Stavros. One can't help where one is born can one! No we certainly can't 'like'. So footie - Red or Blue or not interested ? I'm a red but also been to many a Tranmere Rovers game down the years. Or Rugby League - Are you a Saints fan? Anyway get posting on here. You will find most of us are very respectful of opinions about the Fab Four whether we agree or not.

Don't really follow much sport these days and I tend watch what I can when I can (i.e. if I'm in when Match of the Day is on or in the boozer at the time etc).
I don't have a preference for Red or Blue either. But would probably shout for Liverpool at a push.
I am a (very lapsed) Saints fan and haven't been to a game for over ten years. I used to go home and away as well but once I moved away I got out the habit.

Hiya Andy and a belated welcome to the board. . I meant to come on and say 'hi' last week but was a bit zoned out from too much work and too little sleep! Good to hear you're living in Liverpool these days. I am from L25 and Stavros is a 'Wirral Woolieback', so we must have a meet up one of these days!

Hi, I'm a newbie here ... joined yesterday ..... Have had a look around and this place looks GREAT ..... LOTS of info to digest.
I have been a Beatles fanatic since 1973 (when my sister bought the Red & Blue albums) and have seen Paul live twice - 1979 Lewisham Odeon London,UK (not far from where I live) and again in 1990 at Wembley Arena,London,UK.....
Unfortunately I was born too late (1961) to ever see the Beatles live (in the flesh) but, of course, have enjoyed watching them on film !!!!
My favourite album of theirs is "Magical Mystery Tour" and fav single is "Strawberry Fields Forever" / "Penny Lane".....
Can't think of much more to add at this stage, but look forward to participating in this forum...
Regards to all and a (belated) Merry Crimble. and a Happy Gear Year !!!!! .... Bingomusic.

Welcome bingomusic! Your story about becoming a fan is close to mine although I did not become one until 1975 but it was the Red and Blue Albums that hooked me in too! Hope to read more from you and have a great New Year's! JSD

Hi Bingomusic! It is fun to think we will be hearing from someone from the London area. So you speak more like Jagger in his early days, all proper and such with well-chosen words, and less like our beloved lads that we are here to speak of.
Sometimes I drink when I post. I have to apologize a lot.
But cheerio, well met and well served and all that sort of rubbish. (I don't know how to put the smiley faces in.)

Hi, debjorgo,
Nah (No) ... I don't speak like Jagger.... He's from Kent and I'm from SARF (South) London ..... I speak more like "Only Fools And Horses" characters .... They were Peckham (also South London - about a ten minute drive from where I live...) .... regards to all and A FAB GEAR New Year (to all) ..... bingomusic.
