Patience. The payoff is later in the interview.

Being a guitar player myself, I love all of his guitar licks/solo's, as a Beatle and Solo. Like Paul's bass playing, George's hit his peak in the mid to late seventies with his slide guitar. I was obsessed with *Crackerbox Palace* & *Blow Away* when I first heard it....... Most people commenting on these *Best Guitarist Of All Time* sites seem to think that tapping the fretboard as fast as you can seems to make you a great guitarist. The same people need to stop listening to their Metallica cd's and try and figure out that playing fast does not make you a good player. With Hendrix he maybe No.1, and he thrills us with his fast playing etc. but after a while they all sound the same. Instead George's guitar solo's are slow and complex, and they are all different, and well thought out... He might be ranked 20 something on being the best guitarist, but to me he is in the top 3, along side Eric Clapton, Jimmy McCulloch (its a shame that he lived a short life?), Chuck Berry, Hank Marvin, Carlos Santana, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Angus Young, to name a few....

We had a thread about this not so long ago, and I think the concensus seemd to be that while George may not have been the fastest or most dextrous guitarist, there were few others who played what was so RIGHT nearly all the time.
