The Boyish One turns UK pensioner today. Happy 65th Birthday, Anthony Christopher Hicks!
The video, THEN NOW ALWAYS (Dolphin Days) was written by Hollies drummer Bobby Elliott and is the story of his and Tony's musical adventure from their early days in Ricky Shaw and the Dolphins through the Hollies. Sort of "When We Was Fab." Tony is on lead vocal.
The first photo is of 12-year old guitar god Tony (he's third from the right) in Les Skifflettes, a Lancashire skiffle group that made an appearance on Carroll Levis's Discoveries program in 1957. Then we see Tony, Bobby, future Hollies bassist Bernie Calvert with Patrick Belshaw in the Dolphins. Then the mighty Hollies.

Happy birthday Tony! I like you more than scousette! Man, what a physical specimen! The man today doesn't look a day over 50! Darn, some of those photos in that wonderful video only fuel my man-crush on Tony! Very confusing for me. Tony Hicks is so Beatles' worthy. I wish that he had been our third guitarist! I will concede that scousette has actually beat me to being in the same room as Tony, breathing the same air as him, gazing into those puppy dog eyes, lapping up his sweat in an unquenchable thirst, etc. ;D

I wonder how much his pension check is?
Tony is still youthful looking despite being eligible for AARP membership here in the US. I have found other 50 and 60 year old teenyboppers on message boards who crave his studliness and puppydog eyes. Lots of competition, JSD.

OK, I think we need a Tony Hicks Anonymous support group right about now.
