Does this belong on a Beatle Message Board? It has absolutely nothing to do with music at all.

I just want to know when he is going to release the secret Beatles meet Elvis videos and recordings and the super top secret memos that prove that Paul REALLY is dead and the classified documents that show that Jann Wenner HAS conspired to keep the Monkees out of the Hall of Fame.

I think he will release that when he's indicted by the USA and to prevent his extradition he will call on all the Paul and Monkees zealots lead by our own RTP and OldFred for protection. Some politicians in USA and Canada want him executed ? Isn't that very jihad, Al-Qaeda like ? I was shocked when I heard that.

What this jerk is doing is compromising international security and safety and endangering the lives of people, which includes us, and he doesn't appear to care. If he was doing this stuff during WWII he would have been placed in front of a firing squad and shot as a traitor for aiding and abetting the enemy. And if this guy is guilty of the rape charges against him, I can't see how anyone can defend such a misogynistic, sexist creep. Does this belong on a Beatle Message Board? It has absolutely nothing to do with music at all. This is why this section is designated as the 'off-topic' thread.

Yes but OldFred, what is the difference between leaks to the media and reporters just "doing their job" vs what he is doing. The things that are coming out are things we all suspect but it's just that we now see them in print. This is why he has wide ranging support. If you really believe he is guilty of sexual misconduct in Sweden when he was there for months on end before they layed charges then you are foolish, the Swedish government is being forced to pursue this by the US so they can then hand him over. Talk about freedom of speech, whatever happened to that ?

I bet that if he had absolutely super top secret classified memos that proved that the CIA killed John and that his murder was basically a "test" run for a series of killings of anti-government movers and shakers that the CIA thought were a threat to our country, everyone would be praising him.

Freedom of speech is one thing. Purposely endangering the lives of people for some kind of self-righteous vendetta is something else. And take note of how much this creep whined when details of his sex charges were revealed. What a hypocrite!

I think we assume that "Top Secret" means "important." There are thousands of WikiLeaks docs that are nothing.
Also, not all of the docs represent "true" facts or thoughts.
Thirdly, maybe if the government knows it's going to do bad things in OUR name and that we are going to find out about it, they might just think twice about doing it.
Fourthly, it's up to the mainstream media to decide what to print and what not to print. Remember the Washington Post and Watergate? They did NOT have to print anything Woodward and Bernstein uncovered. In fact, there were people within the paper that thought it was dangerous and unpatriotic for them to do so. If one has a gripe, it should be directed at the media outlets, not Assange.
Fifthly, the rape charges are a separate issue.
Sixthly, if these things are SO important, why did the government make it so easy for a private to download?
Seventhly, right or wrong of what he did, where are the private's Habeus Corpus rights? Many people, in regards to Abu Grhaib, said that foreigners don't deserve Constitutional rights protection. Well, the private is an American. Whether you like what he did or not, you should still stand up for the Constitution.
Finally, I DO think that there are things that should remain secret. I'm not an absolutist. But, if you don't want me to find your "Playboys," hide them better.

sayne, that's exactly right, you express things better than most, that's what I wanted to say.
OldFred, sorry pal but you're so wrong, they wanted Israel to attack Iran, why shouldn't we know about this ? This is going to help save lives because now everyone knows the game. Iran is no Iraq, they will fight back, how many people would be killed in a war with Iran ? The former Australian PM wanted the US to go to war with China if they didn't integrate with the world economy, it seems like it's the West that's causing all these problems around the world and not letting the smaller countries get stronger. Once again something we all know is probably going on behind the scenes but now we know it's for real.

I think it's obvious you are wrong because the US has attempted to gag him on false charges via Sweden only because that's where he was most recently, which is why high profile celebrities have offered to pay his bail and provide accomodation for him.

Like that fat buffoon Michael Moore? It's delicious irony that Wikilleakes showed that his movie 'Sicko' was so fictional that even the Castro administration won't allow it to be shown to their citizens. Moore is trying to spin it that the diplomats who revealed that information were being deceptive, but those documents till that point were secret, so that kind of defeats his excuse.

. . . but those documents till that point were secret, so that kind of defeats his excuse. Secret to us, but not to the sender and the receiver and with whomever they shared it. These were "official" lies sent to the Bush White House, like weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, that are being found in the Wikileaks docs.

Moore is trying to spin it that the diplomats who revealed that information were being deceptive, but those documents till that point were secret, so that kind of defeats his excuse. "Sicko" (a great film, by the way) -- was shown in Cuba. And it's not fictional. The death grip of the insurance industry is all too real for most of us in America. You do understand the point here, right? The Bush administration was terrified of "Sicko" (not as much as the insurance companies though) and diplomats were feeding lies back and forth. Ask yourself, is that what you want our diplomats doing, spending time making up stories about a Michael Moore film? Why were they so concerned? Probably because it's fictional, right? So, wrong again on this OldFred. You need to check your sources. Time is beginning to tell, it seems.
