In The Beatles Anthology DVD, Vol. 6, when we get to 1966 and their is archival footage of an ABC newsman interviewing some kids attending the 1966 Shea Stadium Concert; the newsman first comments on the fact that the concert was not a sellout, then when he is talking to some kids who attended the concert, there is a girl who does not speak, but is to the left on the screen of the kid who is talking. Then behind the second kid who speaks. She is wearing a cap similar to the one John Lennon wore when the lads enter the TV studio for the rehearsal scenes in "Hard Days Night". She looks like the spitting image of a young Meryl Streep. Meryl was born in 1949 and raised in New Jersey, so she would be 17 years old in 1966. This girl looks to be about that age, has the Streep "Nose" and "Chin", and all the kids in the footage appear to be from either New York or New Jersey, based on their accents. Both my wife and I would swear it is her. Has she ever admitted to having attended the 66 Shea concert? And is indeed the girl in the footage?

I don't recall being aware of that, either. And I'm using this question on the website, if you don't mind.

I remember watching the Grammys in the early 1990's (was it 1990?) when Paul received a lifetime achievement award, or something similar. Streep presented the award and mentioned that she had been at one of the Shea concerts. Paul cracked a joke, saying that he remembered seeing her there.

She was sooooo giggly to be next to Paul. She was like a school girl again.

And here she is at the Grammy Awards in 1990 giving the Lifetime Achievement Award to Paul McCartney where she admits she was there. It's in three parts. Her admission is in the first part.

She looks like she was in her fat Lennon period-hat and all ;D ;D ;D
It is a long enough close up-it should be undisputable to those that know her. (not sure if You Tube is any more accurate than Wikipedia).

(not sure if You Tube is any more accurate than Wikipedia). Not really, though it's probably more indisputable than Wiki for some things. And in this case, she's admitted she was there.

I think what I meant (besides my bad spelling) is that you really get a close look at this person-it is not like a Zelig-like blur in the background-but a real close up, but just becasue You Tube labeled it as such - doesn't mean it is her (like the fake Beatles version of Now and Then).
That being said- not only is it probably her, but I'm suprised that Leno or someone along the line never pointed it out. That footage has been around for a long long time.
Maybe it was on "Before they were stars?"
