I'm new here. Been a huge fan of theThe Beatles for many years(I'm 56). John was my favorite, then George. Have checked the abbeyrd beatle brief's for a long time but never posted anything.
Questions... Read a while ago that George was working on an Anthology set(Loved Lennon's!!). Any news on that? Biy would love to her him singing Dylan songs, different versions of songs, etc... Also, any chance Apple would ever re-release Splinter Lp's on CD? I have the records, but would love to have the cd's. George's contributions to those LP's were very good. Also the lp's were good. Especially the first two.
As for the movie Let It Be, I've read beatle brief postings. I thought the movie was great. Saw it 3 times years ago. Sure it was sort of a Paul show case, and a bit of the breatles with their pants down, but the way you witnessed a song progress from beginning to finished product was well worth releasing again. . The way they played together clicking, on the same wave length, etc.. was classic!! I'd like to see them include outakes and what was cut from the original sure, but would also like to see the original , too. Liked the idea of two discs that someone mentioned.

The Harrison anthology was false information. It's not happening. Nothing about Splinter as of yet. As for "Let It Be," you're not alone.

The Harrison anthology was false information. It's not happening. Nothing about Splinter as of yet. Damn! I knew the claimed release date was bogus but I had no idea, Steve, that the whole alleged project was a sham. You mean Olivia and Dhani aren't in any way putting together a good comp of George's music with rareties and unreleased material? Nothing makes more sense than a great Harrison Anthology. Hell, one whole disc could be the original versions of the Brainwashed songs before Jeff and Dhani finished them(although I like their work) and another whole disc could be the material that made up Beware Of Abkco, the ATMP demos. Then there is all the neat things like "Dhera Dhun"(sp?) and the Dylan covers as britt mentioned. We could get some choice cuts from the 1974 tour in great sound quality, hell why not an entire concert. Doggone it, I have been under the assumption that the only question on a Harrison Anthology was when it would be released not whether it would be released. I am totally bummed now. By the way, welcome britt.
