Interesting photo in today's Daily Mail - can't find the photo or a link to it online, sorry/ UK newsreader Peter Sissons, who was at school with John, has an article with a photo of the lads from school at the beach, with a skinny John in his waist-high swimming trunks in the centre of the picture, aged about 8 or 9.

Found it: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1349871/Peter-Sissons-BBC-bosses-ordered-downplay-Queen-Mothers-death.htmlHERE'S THE NEWS, I'M A MATE OF THE BEATLES!
I was born in Liverpool in 1942 and grew up as part of what would be known as the Beatles generation. As it happened, I knew three of them. I was at the same primary school as John Lennon and George Harrison (not to mention Jimmy Tarbuck) and the same grammar school as Paul McCartney.
Many years later when I was at ITN, I was called to reception to see some visitors who had asked for me.
There I found a dozen or more Hare Krishna devotees in their distinctive saffron robes and from among them stepped forward a familiar face. It was George.
The Beatles had dabbled in Eastern mysticism, notably with the Maharishi, but Harrison had gone further than the others and lent his practical support to the Hare Krishna temple.
He had come to ITN House on a mission — to bring their message to the nation. He greeted me warmly and came quickly to the point.
‘Pete,’ he said, ‘we’ve got a big news story for you, and we want you to get it on tonight’s News At Ten. It has to be the lead story.’
My mind raced. Even if it didn’t make a lead item, ex-Beatles (as they were then, the band having split up) were still big news. So, what was this big story, I asked.
He moved closer, took my arm, looked me in the eye, and said one word — ‘Peace’.
Resisting my instinct to say ‘Is that all?’ I asked him to go through the Big Story again. ‘Peace,’ he said again and then repeated it two or three times more. Then he and his friends drifted towards the door and went back into full happy chant as they headed back towards their familiar territory on Oxford Street.

Not to get off topic( here I go!) but here is Tony Hicks of The Hollies in his swimmers: Back on topic, is it just me or does John look like an adult in a kid's body? It's like he's a Mini-Me or something! ;D

It's like he's a Mini-Me or something! ;D Yeah, John has a big head on a little body. And, Tony Hicks actually looks like the actor who played John in Nowhere Boy.
