A week after seeing David Cassidy and Davy Jones at the St. George Theater tomorrow night (that was for JSD ;D), I'll be seeing the Fab Faux at Radio City Music Hall on September 20th. They are considered THE best Beatles' tribute band around. I've seen them before and they are excellent and I'm looking forward to the Radio City show.

The Fab Faux did a version of 'I Don't Want To Face It' for last year's John Lennon Darfur album which only appears on the iTunes download. Here's the video of the song:

And here they are tackling 'Tomorrow Never Knows'

Been busy so didn't have a chance to write about the Fab Faux concert at Radio City till now.
It was a great show. The group performed songs from the Beatles' psychedelic years 1966-1968. Their renditions of songs from Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery tour were spot on. What's great about the Fab Faux is that everyone in the band are excellent musicians and deeply love the music of the Beatles and it shows in how they lovingly recreate the sounds of the original recordings.
George Harrison was heavily represented with accurate renditions of 'The Inner Light', ''Within You, Without You', 'Blue Jay Way', 'Only A Northern Song' and 'It's All Too Much'.
For the opening number of the 'Sgt. Pepper' album, the brass section came out in Sgt. Pepper suits. The last song before the encores was appropriately 'A Day In The Life', and when they got to the final long note, the band left the stage to a huge standing ovation.
If the Fab Faux play your area I highly recommend you go see them. They are considered THE best Beatles tribute band and they deserve their reputation. It's the next best thing to attending a Beatles concert.
