I was playing around with some of the many bootlegs of this song yesterday evening, and realised with some trickery I could create a completely alternate version from the various takes that are available. - This has a completely different vocal to the released version - It starts with just George and acoustic guitar before drums come in - Strings are introduced much later - Much more acoustic driven, many of the electric solos are missing - I double tracked Georges vocal in the final verse to give it a Beatley effect - All in all a completely unique version Made in a couple of hours, so some of the levels are a bit messy. I might redo it at some point. Programs used: Sonar 8.5 Producer Edition, and SoundForge 10. Enjoy: I also have some other new Harri uploads as it's his birthday recently. An unreleased song 'Shelter In Your Love'. If you haven't heard it before it's worth checking out, blew me away when I heard it some years back: And finally, a radio interview Joe Brown did with George in 1999: I still have a ton of stuff to upload to my channel btw I've just been very busy lately Enjoy

Great stuff. Kind of spooky in interview where George talks about King Curtis getting stabbed to death, in the same year that he was stabbed at Friar Park. Nice to hear him talk about Paul's new rock and roll album.
Jason, do you have any information on when George recorded Dylan's Abandoned Love? Was it around the same time he did I Don't Want to Do It?

Was it around the same time he did I Don't Want to Do It? No idea -- AFAIK I don't think anyone knows for sure where it came from. It sounds like a demo to me so maybe your guess could be close? He may have demo'd it and I Don't Want To Do It for the producers of Porkys for them to decide which song to record for the soundtrack. Or it could even have been a demo for someone else. He collaborated with many of his friends in the 80's (off the top of my head I think I've collected around 80 tracks by other artists he performed on/collaborated with) So many possibilities. Whatever the case I look forward to hearing a high quality cleaned up version when the GH Anthology arrives.
