I felt it was harmless, too, but someone I spoke to from Liverpool didn't agree. Hopefully, that's past now.

Tickets are selling now on presale if you register. I just bought mine for Manchester. (Can't go to Liverpool as my friend I'm going with has a gig of his own that night :-( )

I wondered about the 2008 controversy and whether that was still an issue in Liverpool.
Seeing an ex-Beatle in Liverpool would be pretty darn cool and equaled only by seeing one in London, New York City or Los Angeles because of the "guest star" factors in those cities.
When I saw Ringo last July in a casino in Hammond, Indiana, I had no expectation of Paul McCartney running on stage. My wife was happy though because she thought Ringo a hot stud packing those tight black jeans! ;D

If it isn't an All-Starr Band, I fret that it will probably be disappointing musically. They will love seeing him, but the concert itself will be tired.
Why? Well, a few years ago, Ringo did a "last minute" show here in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theater. It was a fundraiser for his foundation - Lotus something. Anyway, the venue was an old movie house. Very small, so it was really cool seeing a Beatle so up close and personal. However, since it wasn't an All-Starr Band, he did just Ringo songs, and not many of his best ones. I don't think it was the Roundheads - I could be wrong. Ringo only played drums on a "couple" of songs. He mostly just sang. Yes, I was glad I went, but it was pretty ordinary.

It is an All Starr band. Then again he plays here so rarely I'd be glad of anything. My first choice would be a Roundheads show though and we won't be getting that.

One of my great thrills was seeing Ringo and the Roundheads play the beautiful Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, Illinois which was filmed and released on c.d. and dvd for the PBS show Soundstage. Colin Hay performed an amazing set in the middle but other than that, it was a real Ringo concert(oh, I guess Mark Hudson and the Roundheads also did a Beatles' medley while Ringo left the stage but that was fun and rather quick). Ringo started "Don't Pass Me By" at the piano and that was one of my great solo Beatles' live moments!
