Did anyone notice that the real "I'm Looking Through You" (not a lame cover) is featured prominently in the TV commercial for the film "Ghost Town"?
I don't recall an actual Beatles song appearing in a commercial since the "Revolution" Nike ad in 1988.
I would say this lends credence to the buzz and rumors of a remaster campaign coming shortly.

I noticed that too, although Steve doesn't appear to share your sanguine outlook re: the licensing....

Hey, Ron, good to see ya! I'm not exactly sure how that extends to the remasters, but I hope you're right.

This actual recording of The Beatles to sell a movie never would have happened or would have had a "cease and desist" order slapped on the studio pronto if Neil Aspinall was still running Apple. He was adamant, along with Paul & Ringo, that no Beatle recording be used to sell a product. Why haven't Paul & Ringo spoken up? Does Sony now control use of Beatle recordings? Julie Taymor would have given anything to have had actual Beatles recordings used in her recent film "Across The Universe". And how does this extend to the re-masters, which sit and collect dust on a shelf as I write...1st generation Beatlefans aren't getting any younger..will we have to listen to the re-masters with hearing aids by the time they are released?

I heard it on the commercial for the movie, but it's really mixed quite low. I think only Beatles fans like us would be able to pick it out. I gather then, it's used in the movie too. Said to wife the other day when I heard this, that I bet we'll hear plenty of licensed Beatles songs everywhere as part of the reissue/remaster campaign (to get their music in the forefront). The publicity is gonna be big. Regards, Beatle Bob

I am in the minority but I like hearing ILTY in this movie commercial. To me, it is getting the music out there to be heard.
I might feel different if actual Beatles' recordings are used for products like adult diapers or something like that but music helps enhance the experience of a movie.
I hope you folks are right that this signals something bigger.
P.S. I see that with Ron Nasty starting this Thread, Steve must have disbanded the secret Peer Review Committee from the old Board. Am I allowed to now mention that group here?

The more exposure the better, especially when the younger generation has no idea who they are, this can only help help garner interest in them from a new generation. Regards, Beatle Bob

I know that you are the Administrator and all, but the PRC is powerful and all knowing, is it safe for me to utter that super secret group's name? I mean, we all thought that the KGB was dead but look at the things going on with Russia.

Georgia had it easy compared to what you're going to feel if you don't drop the topic of that group that doesn't exist, never has and likely never will. I'm just sayin.' JcS
