Just watched a pretty good boot of Shea with some of the Anthology polished video edited in.
It is as pitiful of Apple as Let it Be, that a pristine restored/remixed copy sits on a shelf. While all of the songs are not "tight", this film captures the Beatlemania era in sharp color as opposed to all of the grainy video we have seen over the years.
One funny thing is how many audience clips are repeated, including Epstein on the sideline- or that could be a result of the Anthology footage interspersed.
Without starting another useless Paul vs. John war, it does seem to me that John comes across as the heavy on lead vocals. I really really hope that is not the reason Paul is holding this back.
If they put it on DVD with the concert intact as bonus footage, we are in for as big a treat as a restored Let it Be. And that is from someone who prefers 1966-70 Beatles better than 62-65.
But that also leaves me with a feeling of disappointment that we didn't get that last "late era" concert.

Is that the BBC recording that recently surfaced?
I have that and another boot which is marginally better. It's dissapointing this is not out, but it's nowhere as crazy as the fact that two Beatle feature films are stuck gathering dust in the Apple vaults.

I would love to see this Shea film released. Step up, Apple!

this one has Shea and Paris on it. The Paris quality also varies.
