'The Real John Lennon'
I first saw this back in 2000 when it aired the once on Channel 4 here in England. To my knowledge it was never repeated.
I always remembered it and looked out for it. This week I recently got a copy of it transferred from VHS in great quality so am sharing it here.
It is easily the best Lennon bio-documentary I've ever seen. It wasn't officially endorsed by the Lennon camp (ie, Yoko), so it can afford to be a bit more objective then most. You get to see all the Liverpool locations (and some not shown on a programme like this before), ie, the inside of the art college where Cynthia first met John.
It has a lot of major players that are usually rarely interviewed, and some great revelations that were never reported elsewhere.
A couple: - Pete Best talking about how Epstein 'tried it on with him' - John Lennon telling his Liverpool family he was coming back to England later on in 1980
I loved seeing it again, Enjoy.
