Do we know when the vocals were recorded? There was a big thread about this on the Hoffman boards a few years back, where I think many of the George experts nailed some pretty good educated guesses. I think a lot of the songs went back a long way, going from memory: - Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea for instance was recorded with Jools Holland some years prior. - P2 Vatican Blues (Last Saturday Night) is a Cloud 9 outtake I believe. - Rocking Chair in Hawaii goes way back to the All Things Must Pass era (an early version is found on the boot 'Songs For Patti'). - Run So Far was obviously written for Claptons album in '89. This backing sounds the same, so perhaps this is a guide vocal from back then? - Any Road obviously debuted on the VH1 special for 'Chants Of India'. - Speculation: but Never Get Over With You has been observed by many to be of a very similar production sound to other tracks from Somewhere In England - Jim Keltner mentioned in a radio interview that Stuck Inside A Cloud had been in the can for a long time, and he'd often request hearing it when visiting Friar Park. - Rising Sun apparantly written during 'This Is Love' video sessions. So this may have been recorded a long way back. The tracks that may be the most new are likely: 'Looking For My Life' - possibly the lyrics reflect his horrific attack, 'Brainwashed', 'Pisces Fish', & 'Marwa Blues'. The above is all my opinion, taken in part from memory of the Hoffman thread and from my own personal conclusions

Do we know when the vocals were recorded? - Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea for instance was recorded with Jools Holland some years prior. Yes, George was even able to record a video of it that's on the Dark Horse DVD in which George looks healthy . But thanks for the info, Jason!

Didn't George say at one point, he was still recording music he just wasn't putting it out anymore? I would hope there is a lot of stuff that someone will get to hear someday.
When your thinking about retiring, you have to project how long you'll live. Hopefully Mother Krishna and Father Time are looking out for me.

Didn't George say at one point, he was still recording music he just wasn't putting it out anymore? Yes, that theory is mentioned a number of times in the "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" book. Now, what's out there and will it ever be released is anyone's guess. I'd settle for a remastered "Extra Texture". Anyone know if there were any interesting outtakes from the sessions for ET?

Do we know when the vocals were recorded? The best source of information on "Brainwashed" is the most recent edition Of Simon Leng's book While My Guitar Gently Weeps: The Music Of George Harrison. Leng goes track by track with who plays what and he gives recording information on each song. Leng laments like we did here back in 2002 the fact that there was zero promotion for this album. Part of that is refreshing as we can look to the whoring of Elvis, Michael Jackson and now Whitney Houston after their deaths but yet the music on "Brainwashed" was too damn good to be instantly forgotten as it has been. I don't know if that album is even in print anymore. I haven't seen it in a retail store for years.
