Thanks Steve. I want to check in on this thread, and I know I won't if it gets moved off-forum. Even though it's an ocean away, I've found myself thinking about it due to John being caught up in it.

In Indianapolis at least, a live tribute to victims of the Indiana State Fair Tragedy was broadcast on t.v. by Sugarland immediately before their first concert since the sad event last Saturday here in Indiana: Sugarland resume tour with tribute to Indiana State Fair victims Updated: Aug 18, 2011 11:10 PM EDT ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO - Sugarland resumed their North American tour in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a dedication to the victims of the Indiana State Fair.
Singer Jennifer Nettles and guitarist Kristian Bush held a moment of silence for the five fans who died last Saturday at the fairgrounds when scaffolding came down on the crowd during a storm. Over 40 people were injured, and some are still critical.
"In honor of those people and those beautiful lives that were lost, we ask that you join us in a moment of silence," Nettles said.
She and Bush then performed an acoustic version of their song Love.
Afterwards, Nettles said, "In the loss of our instruments and equipment this incredible machine looks very different right now, but we're going to try our best to put on our professional faces and celebrate with you the joy and healing power of music."
They left the stage and told the crowd the concert would begin in a few minutes. The article with photos can be found here: www.wthr.com/story/15294663/sugarland-resume-tour-with-tribute-to-indiana-state-fair-victimsIt was very touching as the band brought out their entire crew to share the stage with them. There set and their instruments were largely destroyed. They carry on without them. I am really appreciating this band and Jennifer Nettles sure has a set of pipes!

Well, a 6th person died from the State Fair collapse today, Jennifer Haskell, 22, a senior at Ball State University. This tragedy also killed Ms. Haskell's best friend, Alina Bigjohny, 23, who was hired in July to teach English at Wilson Middle School in Muncie. These two young women had their whole lives ahead of them and were probably going to a concert they were looking forward to for months. They were in the Sugarpit so they were probably big fans. Ms. Bigjohny just got her very first job as a teacher and was to start teaching. I mentioned that one victim is from Wanatah, Indiana which is way up north and that is amazing as that is where I lived for two years of high school and all through college and law school as it was my parents home from 1979 to 1989. It is amazing as Wanatah is a town of 750 people. Her family has hired Ken Allen, one of the most successful, aggressive personal injury lawyers in Indiana. Her name was Vandam and went to the concert as a birthday present. You all have read me say that Donna and I no longer try to get floor seats as Donna cannot see on level Floor seating. When the crowd stands, Donna is hosed. We last did that at Paul McCartney in Chicago April 2002 and Donna couldn't see anything as the crowd stood all night, she had trouble seeing even the monitors. This policy of ours means that we will never be close to such dangers as collapsing stages. Believe me, we never dreamed about that problem.
