I see mentioned on this board about remastered cds this fall. I doubt this very much for this year. I hope Apple gets their sh*t together about this soon. I'm tired of playing the Love CD over and over again in my car (with Yellow Sub Songtrack occasionally played). I'd like to see the Beatles cds remastered while I'm still young enough to enjoy them. Playing the old cds as well as the DESS stuff that I've downloaded online doesn't give me the satisfaction of sonic brilliance of the Love soundtrack. I guess for now I will be Crying, Waiting and Hoping for remastered cds.

I'd love to see Apple sort out the remasters as soon as possible. But d'ya know what? I'd actually rather see 'Let it be' issued on DVD with tons of extras and the entire Rooftop performance, all with the lastest sound format.....and a 'greatest hits' DVD compilation. To be honest, I'm not really a hi-fi buff, so the re-masters are not top of my priority list. Plus the fact we've already heard hours of out-takes and alternate versions on 'Anthology' (Apple almost 'spoiled' us during the mid-nineties) so that box has already been ticked, in a sense. The lack of a greatest hits video/DVD compiltation throughout the 80s, 90s and noughties is a staggering omission, bordering on artistic negligence. The Bealtes promo clips were ground-breaking and their rawness and primitive quality, by today's standards doesn't detract one iota from their brilliance -- a compilation of well-selected and digitally restored clips with 5.1 sound would be awesome. ...and 'Let it Be' just needs putting out a.s.a.p. without any more prevarication or fannying about.

I think perhaps that when the CDs come out next year, as is currently what is said in the Quick News Briefs, then perhaps there will be a giant BEATLES campaign where we see not only the CDs being released remastered but also all of the Beatles movies being re-released on BluRay as well as DVD for those "old school" peoples.
Next year is going to be a better year for me in many ways personally and the Beatles remasters and BluRay discs would make it even a better year for me and others I am sure.
If they don't come out until 2010, then perhaps that is what they are saving for the 40th Anniversary of the Beatles breakup.
