movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810209498/videowow- I thought this was a poor cast, but I think I thought wrong. Moe the original mopster. He was dead on-especially in the Snooki scene. Larry- didn't think he'd pull it off, but unless his voice was overdubbed by Billy West- he is spot on. Curly- thought he was the strongest cast member to begin with. Let the pie throwing begin.

LOL! That did look good. It is daring though as we love our Stooges!

As a diehard Stooges fan, I'm still mixed over this. I was kind of surprised that I didn't hate the trailer completely. Nothing will replace the originals. The question is how much can I take this one?

LOL! That was great! I thought they really did justice to the originals!

I think what sold me most was the Moe-Snooki scene-man did he look like Moe Howard.
As a big Stooge fan- I was skeptical and I hope they just didn't already show us the best parts.
I debated on this with my brother today. I pointed out that even the Stooges themselves replaced Curly three times and almost Larry at the end.
But I don't think Moe would approve of some of the Farrelly Bros. bathroom humor schtick.

We would actually play that at college coed parties when it was a hit and us guys would lark about and get silly, doing Curly and Three Stooges impersonations. Suddenly I realize why my college experience had very few Girls Gone Wild moments.

Now there is a second trailer and other footage.
I have to say regasrdless of how good the movie is- these guys nailed the parts.
I wonder what kind of deal they made. Imagine the sequels: The Three Stooges Meet Cheech and Chong The Three Stooges Meet the Ghostbusters The Three Stooges Meet Jason any other ideas?

I love the Stooges. Where I grew up back East, the station used to run three hours of Stooges Saturdays and Sundays. I never missed it. There have been other Stooges movies that have gone nowhere. I'm not sure this will, either.

Perhaps it will help if one sees it as a Farrelly Brothers movie instead of a Stooges movie.

It's like going to a Fab Faux concert or any other imitation Beatles. They cannot re-create anything close to the originals. This movie will fade quickly.

I have a bunch of Stooges DVDs, including the first four of the recently released anthologies made from the original masters. They are the greatest. There was nothing like the Stooges.

I'm going to see it today. Today is actually my 50th birthday and the girlfriend needs me to be out of the house for the afternoon (gee, I wonder why? ). I've always been a Stooges Fan, and though I generally resist "remakes" like this, I don't see this movie being harmful to the Stooges' Legacy. In fact, I only see it making newbies more fond of them and more aware. I think Moe and Curly have been really nailed here by the actors.

Happy real birthday Joe!
Yes- I think theses guys did their homework, and the Farrelly Brothers actually toned down the humor.
Remember, it was the tradition of the Stooges to keep the act going, so I think Moe would have been proud.
Just Say Moe...

I just saw the STOOGES, and I really liked it. And anyone on my regular movie message boards will attest that I don't like many newer films, especially ones that try to "re-do" things. But I felt the three actors really came off like the original Three Stooges, and it was respectfully done in their memory. At times I honestly felt I was actually watching an old 1930's Stooges two-reeler. You have to be a fan to enjoy it, I suppose, but the slapstick shenanigans of these guys work so well even in the 21st Century... and I'd bet Moe Howard and the other real Stooges would have been honored. Their legacy is stronger than ever and assured.

I saw the movie with my Lovely Linda on Sunday. She hates the Stooges, so she must really love me! I thought it was good, I could have done without the baby scene and the Jersey Shore guys though. The latter I thought was a mistake because it's going to date the movie badly in a few years. During the bell tower scene when the whole theater filled with laughter, Linda looked at me and said, "Why are people laughing?". The compromise of us going to see the movie together was that next time we would take in a 'chick flick'. I suggested 'The Hunger Game' (hey, it's got a chick in it!). Linda promptly bonked me on the head and eye poked me. I think I'm winning her over to our side. She'll be one of us soon, Nyuck, Nyuck, Nyuck! ;D

Still haven't seen it...but definitely will.
They did a quasi-live cameo of WWE. No I don't watch that, but I saw it on youtube.
I think it would be a hoot for them to appear in character on SNL. Gili meets the Stooges...(though I think that skit is always pretty bad).

OK, the three of us (me, wife, son) went yesterday and regretted it soon after it started. It stunk. Badly. If you like the Stooges, save your money and buy the DVDs or wait for the movie to come on DVD. But it was horrible. That baby scene Fred referred to wasn't the worst thing, but it was pretty close. Bad, bad, bad. Worst film I've seen since "The Cat in the Hat," which really was dreadful. And my son is in his early 20s and HE hated it. In fact, he tried to talk us out of it. I had to tell him afterwards he was right for once.

It was obviously inserted to get people to the theater, but I thought it was a great piece of satire.

I felt the movie was a fine tribute to the original Stooges, and everyone nailed their parts perfectly. I think Moe, Larry, and Curly are in heaven smiling with approval at this heartfelt homage. So there! Do you think possibly you had your mind made up not to like it all along? I only ask because I've re-read your earlier posts here and you really didn't seem comfortable about it.

I took my 17 year old son who hates everything. We had the whole theater to ourselves. We roared throughout the movie- now he wants to watch the originals which I couldn't get him to do as a kid. I think they nailed it.

I liked it, but my 14 year old son hated it! Then again, I'm not sure he's seen the original, so it could be that the Stooges don't translate to the Millennial generation?!?....
