One of the greatest actors of all time has passed away and I don't think we should let this moment pass without a tip of the cap. Tonight, in Paul Newman's honor, I watched 'Cool Hand Luke' again. Fantastic movie! Rest in peace, Mr. Newman. Any other thoughts? Favorite Paul Newman movies? Express your opinion if you care to.

Indeed. RIP, Paul "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and "The Sting" were (and still are) two of my favorite movies of all time. It's a shame Newman and Redford never worked together again, but in retrospect it may have been a letdown (not unlike a Beatles reunion - see? I brought it on topic somewhat! ) Seriously, I also liked his work in "The Hustler", "The Color of Money", "The Verdict", etc. etc. etc. I'm ashamed to admit I never saw "Cool Hand Luke" all the way through. I also think he did great voice work in "Cars" as Doc Hudson My wife and I like all his charity work, as well. We buy Paul Newman spaghetti sauce almost exclusively. Good stuff! Yum! But again R.I.P., Paul....

Yes, RIP Paul Newman. I heard this whilst on vacation. Very sad. I always liked his movies. "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid" is one of my favorites. Next to Clint, Paul is a favorite in the acting category. JCV

Paul Newman is one in a trillion. Great actor, philanthropist, race car driver, father, husband, all around good guy.
Newman's Own Balsamic Vinaigrette salad dressing rocks.
RIP, Cool Hand Luke. Your star shines on.

As for "The Sting", many actors say that playing a drunk is one of the most difficult things to pull off. Here we have Paul Newman playing a guy, who is pretending to be drunk, and still as an actor he is playing a drunk and he pulls it off masterfully in the poker scene on the train. One in a trillion? You bet scousette! Thankfully, film lasts forever so Mr. Newman will always be with us if we choose to seek him out.

If you haven't, check out "Hud" from the early 1960s. Brilliant film, and great performance, as always, from Paul Newman.
