In the final match of the 2nd round REVOLVER (side 2) takes on BEATLES VI (side 2). REVOLVER 2 got a first round bye while B VI had a tight 6-4 win over SOMETHING NEW (side 2)
REVOLVER (SIDE 2) 1. Good Day Sunshine 2. For No One 3. I Want To Tell You 4. Got To Get You Into My Life 5. Tomorrow Never Knows
BEATLES VI (SIDE 2) 1. What You're Doing 2. Yes It Is 3. Dizzy Miss Lizzie 4. Tell Me What You See 5. Every Little Thing
This is the final match of round 2. If you missed voting in any previous match you can still cast your vote. Round 3 will start in a couple days!

Beatles VI
On the basis that I don't like Lizzie, vs I want to tell you and TNK on R2.

BEATLES VI (SIDE 2)
I cannot vote for a Side 2 of Revolver without "And Your Bird Can Sing."
Beatles VI is quietly awesome too.

REVOLVER (SIDE 2) 1. Good Day Sunshine 2. For No One 3. I Want To Tell You 5. Tomorrow Never Knows
BEATLES VI (SIDE 2) 1. What You're Doing 2. Yes It Is 4. Tell Me What You See 5. Every Little Thing
Tie on the songs. The exceptional songs are For No One and Tomorrow Never Knows vs Tell Me What You See.
REVOLVER (SIDE 2) takes this one.

Yes like JSD I don't like a REVOLVER side missing "And Your Bird Can Sing" (and "Dr. Robert" which I like almost as much) BUT REVOLVER side 2 does have "For No One" and "Tomorrow Never Knows" which are my two favorite songs. And the other three are pretty good too. Only "What You're Doing" and "Yes It Is" come close to being as good as "Good Day Sunshine", "I Want To Tell You" and "Got To Get You Into My Life". The UK Side 2 of REVOLVER is my all time favorite album side. This bastardized US version won't get my vote somewhere along the line, but at this time it does get my vote. REVOLVER (Side 2) holds a 3-2 lead at this time.

REV 2
A side with "For No One" is going to be hard to beat, and the other four are solid-to-wonderful tracks. "Yes It Is" and "Lizzie" are a drag to VI 2.

JcS I like Yes It Is for John's soulful singing. Dizzie Lizzie, was one of the few covers the Beatles did where they did not improve over the original. It never was a favorite of mine.

I'm surprised at the unanimous disdain for LIZZIE here. I think it's one of the Beatles' most ferocious rockers, and John is awesome singing it in the SLOW DOWN/MONEY/BAD BOY vein.

Giving Dizzy another listen, I'm still not a fan. I listened to the Capitol version and the UK version. This is an odd occasion where the Capitol version sounds better. In a switch, the UK version sounds like it has more reverb on it than the Capitol one.
This is basically Lucille without the "Woke up this morning" lines.

I'd like Lizzie a lot more if it wasn't for that thin weedy guitar riff ALL THE SODDING WAY THROUGH.

I like Dizzy Miss Lizzie, just not as much as I like the tracks on REVOLVER.

Good call out on the difference between the EMI DML and the Capitol one, debjorgo! The absolute best mix/version of DML is on the 1976 comp Rock 'N' Roll Music where DML starts off Side 3 and Lennon's vocal about bites the listener's head off and spits it out! Ferocious!
