REVOLVER (SIDE 1)
Okay, I am weak and voted for the U.S. version of Revolver which I hate. "Thank You Girl"(except the drumming) and "Devil In Her Fart" are kind of weak to me.
I am going to go pout though.

REV 1; only one weak spot on it--"Love You To." "Devil In Her Heart" and "Thank You Girl" are bottom feeders in the Beatles' canon. I said earlier that the absence of "I'm Only Sleeping" will be a downfall for REV 1 at some point, but this isn't it. Yet.

I happen to like "Thank You Girl" quite a bit. It is better on THE BEATLES 2ND ALBUM (more harmonica) and "Devil In Her Heart" I really like the backing vocals. Truthfully I like every song on both sides of this album. "Money" is a great cover, but "Taxman", "Eleanor Rigby" and "Here There Everywhere" are great originals. My vote goes to REVOLVER (side 1) which now has a 5-0 lead.

These album tourneys are kinda weird with these US albums, I like THE BEATLES 2ND ALBUM (SIDE 1)
That's a real rockfest by the savage young Beatles.

REVOLVER (SIDE 1) gets my vote.
I almost left You Can't Do That for a tie, but the Revolver songs are stronger.

I never really knew the Capitol albums, other than Meet the Beatles. My brother bought it. But until the White Album, we just listened to a transister.
We had to "go back and get", the older Sgt Pepper and Magical Mystery well after the fact. A few years later, my sister married a guy who had Yesterday and Today and Help.
I have heard Rubber Soul and Revolver were better on the American albums. The more experimental songs were held and the more traditional songs were used earlier. It made the move to psychedelia more dramatic.

Not quite. RUBBER SOUL it can be argued that the US album is better, but REVOLVER is way worse in the US version. Three key Lennon songs were taken off and put on YESTERDAY & TODAY to fill out that album.
I am very thankful that I got the full 14 song UK REVOLVER and heard the songs on that album and in that configuration. I also got the UK REVOLVER before I heard YESTERDAY & TODAY so I didn't think of the songs as belonging to that album.
But the rest of these albums were "the real albums" to me (and many other first and second generation fans) for a long time-at least until 1987 and the release of the CD's!

If you were going to intentionally try to pull off some songs that would make the album seem more "turn the corner", innovational, those three Lennon songs might fit the bill. But Capitol didn't do it for that reason. Im thinking, they pulled the songs that they thought Beatle fans would like the most.

They pulled the songs because they were what was ready at the time Y&T was ready to be released.
