The next matchup pits side 2 of THE BEATLES 2ND ALBUM against side 2 of YESTERDAY AND TODAY. It is interesting to read the comments of those who are not familiar with these albums. For most of us in the USA these are the albums we grew up with. This continued to be the case until 1987 when the first round of Beatles CD's came out. Yeah for the most part we got cheated, but in a few cases I think we made out pretty well. Anyway, here are the songs
THE BEATLES 2ND ALBUM (SIDE 2) 1. Long Tall Sally 2. I Call Your Name 3. Please Mr. Postman 4. I'll Get You 5. She Loves You
YESTERDAY AND TODAY (SIDE 2) 1. And Your Bird Can Sing 2. If I Needed Someone 3. We Can Work It Out 4. What Goes On 5. Day Tripper

Day Tripper Tough contest- 3 great songs on each. Y&T has the weakest song, What Goes On, I guess I'll go with... Beatles Second Album, side two.

YESTERDAY AND TODAY (SIDE 2)And Your Bird Can Sing is among my very favorite Beatles songs. LOL, I'd completely forgotten that Day Tripper and We Can Work It Out were on Y & T! There is not a bad song though on BSA-2.

Y&T 2.
It almost boils down the strength of the two singles that were included. "We Can Work It Out" towers over everything else on these two sides, and "I'll Get You" is one of their weaker B-sides. "She Loves You" is wonderful, of course, but so is "Day Tripper." Of the others, "Please Mr. Postman" is one of their weaker covers. It's not a complete wipeout, but Y&T 2 wins by a comfortable margin.

THE BEATLES 2ND ALBUM (SIDE 2) 2. I Call Your Name 4. I'll Get You 5. She Loves You
YESTERDAY AND TODAY (SIDE 2) 2. If I Needed Someone 3. We Can Work It Out 5. Day Tripper
A tie on the numbers. Day Tripper is my favorite so I'm going with:
YESTERDAY AND TODAY (SIDE 2)
And Your Bird Can Sing was nearly on my list anyway.

I'm also casting my vote for Y&T2. I knew this would be a tough one because TB2nd was the first album I ever heard. "I'll Get You" was the first of many album tracks to be one of my favorites. But in this comparison, song for song Y&T triumphs in every spot except for "What Goes On".
YESTERDAY & TODAY SIDE 2 leads 7-1.
