The last of the 4 first round matches (the other 12 sides received byes into the 2nd round). This one pits SOMETHING NEW (Side 2) vs. BEATLES VI (Side 2):
SOMETHING NEW (SIDE 2) 1. Tell Me Why 2. And I Love Her 3. I'm Happy Just To Dance With You 4. If I Fell 5. Komm Gibb Mer Dein Hand
BEATLES VI (Side 2) 1. What You're Doing 2. Yes It Is 3. Dizzy Miss Lizzie 4. Tell Me What You See 5. Every Little Thing

SOMETHING NEW (SIDE 2) 2. And I Love Her 4. If I Fell
BEATLES VI (Side 2) 1. What You're Doing 2. Yes It Is 4. Tell Me What You See
And I Love Her is the best song but three beats two.
BEATLES VI (Side 2)

BEATLES VI (Side 2)
SN has the great "And I Love Her" and "If I Fell" but totally loses me with "Komm Gibb Mer Dein Hand." Why oh why that and the "She Loves You" German version were felt needed I'll never know. Was it a nod to Hamburg?
My faves on BVI-2 are the completely forgotten in 2012 "Yes It Is" and the equally obscure but awesome "Every Little Thing."

Beatles VI, marginally - each has 4 pluses and a minus.

Give me SOMETHING NEW 2; I'm not a fan of the German remake, but then again, I shouldn't be. But the four originals, especially "If I Fell" are all good-to-great, whereas VI has "Yes It Is" (and I don't care for it much) and "Tell Me What You See (ditto).
Close, and neither side will progress too far in this tourney except for lucky draws.

"Tell Me What You See", one of the few John and Paul duets. Wiki says it's Paul but I hear John pretty loud too, especially on the Capitol version.

SOMETHING NEW S2
The German IWTHYH was fun at one time, but not so much now for me. But TELL ME WHY, IF I FELL, and AND I LOVE HER carry it for me.

Not ready to cast my vote yet. I did a quick matchup and came up with each album having two winners with one tie. However, I wanted to mention that both of these sides could easily have been better. For SOMETHING NEW, why finish up with the German song when "Can't Buy Me Love", "A Hard Day's Night" and "I Should Have Known Better" were all available (or even an earlier song like "From Me To You") And wouldn't "I'm Down" have made a great 6th song on side two of BEATLES VI to close the album!

If it did, they may have said it was Bernard Purdie. There's no way they would give Pete the credit.

Both songs have good openers-edge to "What You're Doing". Each LP follows up with a nice ballad. Edge to "And I Love Her". "Dizzy Miss Lizzie" a good rocking cover. "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" is a good pop/rock tune so that match is a draw. "If I Fell" easily beats "Tell Me What You See". I'll take "Every Little Thing" over the German tune. Which LP side was I most apt to pull out? That would be SOMETHING NEW side 2, so that's how I vote. BEATLES VI leads 4-3.

It never seemed like they were hiding anything to me. I remember hearing My Bonnie, Three Cool Cats, Aint She Sweet, etc , from the very beginning.
