I thought about this tourney a while ago and now I have some time. I decided to just go with the Capitol albums so there wouldn't be any repeated songs and because there were so many albums by so many different labels other than Capitol. Anyway here's the first match:
BEATLES VI (side 1) vs. HELP (side 2)
BEATLES VI (SIDE 1) 1. Kansas City 2. Eight Days A Week 3. You Like Me Too Much 4. Bad Boy 5. I Don't Want To Spoil The Party 6. Words Of Love
HELP (SIDE 2) 1. Another Girl 2. Another Hard Day's Night (instrumental) 3. Ticket To Ride 4. The Bitter End/You Can't Do That (instrumental) 5. You're Going To Lose That Girl 6. The Chase (instrumental)

Hooray! A new tourney! Um...this one's tough, neither side is blowing me away, but I'll go with Help! side 2, as that was the second album I've ever owned.

At first glance, I thought this was going to be easy. Side 2 EMI Help would blow Beatles VI away. I'll have to say Beatles VI. Three great songs vs two great songs.
4. Bad Boy 5. I Don't Want To Spoil The Party 6. Words Of Love vs. 1. Another Girl 3. Ticket To Ride
I could easily be talked out of it by adding 5. You're Going To Lose That Girl to Help's list and Ticket to Ride is the best song.

BEATLES VI (SIDE 1)
Wow! I'd forgotten how good Beatles VI Side 1 is! I really need to pull out the Capitol boxes again. "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party" is one of my favorite Beatles' songs and it is still relatively obscure, as much as any great Beatles' song can be.
I love the U.K. Help! but this American version has those three instrumentals that are kind of cheesy.
Great idea CoachBK!

Utterly unfamiliar with these, of course, but on the basis of the track listing, I'd go with Beatles VI.

I've got a few voters so I'll cast my vote for BEATLES VI Side 1. BEATLES VI was pretty much made up of songs from BEATLES FOR SALE that didn't get onto BEATLES 65 plus a few from the non-soundtrack side of HELP. In this case the US got it right by releasing "Eight Days A Week" as a single (I remember being astounded when I first discovered this wasn't a single in the UK, it seems tailor made for the singles market). "Word Of Love" and "Bad Boy" are among my favorite covers. "Kansas City" has grown on me through the years. "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party" is a transitional period song from John in going from pure pop/rock to more sophisticated writing. "You Like Me Too Much" is weak lyrically, but is saved by the piano. HELP side 2 features the great single "Ticket To Ride" and two fine album tracks in "You're Going To Lose That Girl" and "Another Day", but the US got cheap and tacked on the instrumental film music. Of those "Another Hard Day's Night" is interesting because it was what got George first interested in Indian music, but that's not enough to get me to vote for the side.

I am really on a huge George kick, more solo maybe than Beatles era, but is "You Like Me Too Much" about the absolute low-end of Harisongs or what?
I'll cut George some slack though because this song comes still early in the game but it could be a song like this that caused John and Paul(and George Martin) not to take the "Quiet One" seriously as a songwriter.
George would soon enough show them and the world otherwise but I truly feel "You Like Me Too Much" is one we first should have heard on Anthology I like "You Know What to Do." Then we'd have two Hari surprises!

Then we'd have two Hari surprises! I agree about "You Like Me Too Much", as I said earlier, the lyrics are embarrassing even by simple pop song standards. I actually think "You Know What To Do" had more potential. I envision a nice harmonica break in the middle and some harmonies from John and Paul that could have made this into a decent song. George had already shown some ability as a songwriter as "Don't Bother Me" is quite good.

Very melodic.

You Like Me Too Much is filler, I liked it when I was 11 but can now see it wasn't very good and let's down Side 2 of Help! along with Act Naturally. Going back to Don't Bother Me, I was so disappointed he didn't perform this live on his Japan tour with Eric Clapton.

In the early 1980's I wrote a letter to George Harrison and I praised "Don't Bother Me." I never got a reply.
