As this tournament cranks up into high gear (or, at least, a higher gear than before), Let It Be bits the dust. We are left with:
Please Please Me With The Beatles (and Meet The Beatles US) A Hard Day’s Night (UK) Beatles For Sale Rubber Soul Revolver Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Abbey Road 1967-70

Please Please Me and let's vote this one off! Cheesy and I don't like the haircuts, Ringo still looks like a Teddy Boy.

PLEASE PLEASE ME
Cheesy retro loses to more artistic and interesting covers of the later years.

A hard day's night. Its time has come. It's a fun sleeve and complements the film quite well but, it's out of its depth in this company. The idea of using twenty small photos just about worked for 12" vinyl, but not for CD.
There are so many things that I like about the 62-66 / 67-70 photos - the historical interest, including those early haircuts, the comparison between the two pics, the unusual camera angle and picture composition. I'm prepared to wave them through for a round or two yet.

Please Please Me doesn't please me as much as the other covers that remain.

I'm actually changing my vote from the previous round (A HARD DAY'S NIGHT) because of the strong arguments of others on this thread. They have a sort of pre-Beatles look to them.

A HARD DAY'S NIGHT --- dull, by-the-numbers... just features a bunch of camera-mugged shots from the movie.

A HARD DAY'S NIGHT. Tough company it is in now, so I'm nitpicking the color scheme on it.

My vote still goes to/against "A Hard Day's Night". It's just too bland for me.

I agree with every word regarding 'Magical Mystery Tour'. And to think that it was only voted off from our tournament in about round 10!

I agree with every word regarding 'Magical Mystery Tour'. And to think that it was only voted off from our tournament in about round 10! Not from my lack of effort! I was gunning for MMT for several Rounds before it got booted. That was a good article sayne linked to. That Orleans album cover of naked male hippies all over each other helps sell a record how? ;D
