*Get On The Right Thing*, is next to get the chop (with 6 votes, and 46.1% of the votes), from RRS, now where down the final four, the cream of the crop, the best 4 from this great album....... Who will go next in Round 6........... ;D Video Clip Of The Day
Country Dreamer – Paul McCartney & WingsThe orginal Sally-G, a great country song (Rated R as well…lol), this originally was planned to be on the RRS double album (First song, on Side 3, ), but ended up being a B – Side to the *Helen Wheels* single
(after hearing The Mess, 1882, and this great song, I'm wondering why Paul didn't leave it as a double album...... ..)
(JSD, on his knees, singing too Pattie Boyd... ..)
I'd like to walk in a field with you, take my hat and my boots off too. I'd like to lie in a field with you. Would you like to do it too, may? Would you like to do it too? I'd like to stand in a stream with you, roll my trousers up and not feel blue. I'd like to wash in a stream with you. Would you like to do it too?
You and I, country dreamer, when there's nothing else to do; Me oh my, country dreamer, make a country dream come true.
I'd like to climb up a hill with you, stand on top and admire the view. I'd like to roll down a hill with you. Would you like to do it too, may? Would you like to do it too?

One More KissSo sad to chose this, probably the first song I liked when I bought the album (inc BOTR & V & M) in 1976........

"Big Barn Bed"
One of those lyrics that is just cringe worthy ("leaping armadillo, yes")

One more kiss. Pleasant but insubstantial. You could say that about the whole album--well, except the pleasant part, I guess. LLD for me again. JcS

JcS Joey, let the little lamb dragonfly into your heart. I think it is the most poignant song Paul ever wrote. It is White Album worthy, it is Abbey Road worthy, it is Wild Life worthy!

One more kiss. Pleasant but insubstantial. You could say that about the whole album--well, except the pleasant part, I guess. It's a fair point. Only four songs remaining and we're still weeding out surprisingly flimsy contenders. It makes me wonder whether 'Red Rose Speedway' is, in fact, the Ugly Sister of the JSD Postulate. 'McCartney' - knowingly amateurish yet disarming. 'Ram' - quirky but inspired. 'Wild Life' - slapdash but spontaneous and organic. 'Red Rose Speedway' - pleasant but insubstantial. In physical terms, a big ball of fluff. In emoticon,

One final thought on listening to 'One more kiss' after a hiatus of some 35 years. Songs with a Babe, I'm gonna leave you -- must be movin' on - type of lyric really don't suit the genial, sunny, easy-going McCartney. It's a bit like listening to Cliff Richard attempting a version of 'Dazed and confused'!

Excellent observation, Woolie. For years I have anguished over the inclusion of Red Rose Speedway into The JSD Postulate. Paul is starting to get a little slick and polished(re "My Love") but I satisfied myself that the following makes RRS Postulate-worthy: 1. Still experimental non-commercial things like "Loup (1st Indian on the Moon);" 2. Skin to the wind rocker with funky, sex-driven lyrics as found in "Big Barn Bed;" 3. Heartfelt, true emotional material like "Little Lamb Dragonfly" and "Get On The Right Thing" and not the Hallmark sentiments we start seeing on BOTR; 4. Paul and Linda's mullets; 5. The open and notorious smoking of massive dope; and 6. Paul performing live with either no shirt or wide open shirts and looking like a Greek God rather than a used Trojan. RRS is still the final anchor of The JSD Postulate! Postulate-worthy Paul
