*One More Kiss*, is next to go, coming in fourth place in this Survivor....Its a great song and I have always enjoyed playing this track, IMO Paul had a particular gift for these gentle country ballads..... Oh well, who will be next to drop off from the final 3........... ;D Video Clip Of The Day
I Lie Around – Paul McCartney & WingsOrginally to be on the RRS double album (First song, on Side 4, ), but ended up being a B – Side to the *Live and Let Die* single in 1973...Other than a few instrumentals, it was the first song Wings released in which the lead singer was not Paul McCartney. Rather, "I Lie Around" was sung by Wings guitarist Denny Laine........................
On this record Denny does sound a little like John or Elvis (no?), its another great track they shouldn’t have omitted from RRS, although it was included as a bonus track on the CD release of Paul McCartney & Wings' 1973 album, RRS, when that work became available on compact disc in 1988. It was also included as a bonus track on the remastered version of RRS that was re-released on CD in 1993 as a part of The Paul McCartney Collection………*Enjoy*
I lie around All over the place
It seems that I have no choice in the matter Roll along wheel of fortune As you roll along I stick around Furthermore in the country I will lay my burden down I lie around I lie around I lie around All over the place All over the place All over the place All over the place
Too long have I been the heart of the matter All along I was only over tired and overtaken Furthermore in the country I will lay my burden down I lie around I lie around I lie around All over the place
So long, bye bye, it was fun while it mattered Roll along wheel of fortune As you roll along I stick around Furthermore in the country I will lay my burden down
Yes, I lie around All over the place All over the place All over the place I lie around, around

LLD.
I can't believe "My Love" is sitting there still and I'm not voting it off, but LLD is twice as long and just as boring, plus it lacks the killer guitar solo.

My LoveI want to make it clear that I love "My Love" but I have to vote for something! I will say that "My Love" is the most inconsistent song to The JSD Postulate found on Paul's first four solo albums. That helps a little. Rocko posted above a very Postulate-worthy picture of Paul from this cool era that sums up the funkiness, the pot, the sex, the 70's clothes and the natural body odor that makes the time period of The JSD Postulate so cool:

I vote for Little Lamb Dragonfly.
I like it but I've always felt it would be a stronger track if edited down a bit. Personally I mainly like the section with all the classic era Wings harmonies: "dragonfly / fly by my window / you and I / still have a way to go..." the other sections I'm not so keen on.

My Love
Best version I've ever seen of this song was this one (for the guitar solo).
This is one is more strained, but you gotta love everyone helping on the Whoa, whoa's.
Interesting contrast of then and now!

Big Barn Bed I can't understand why people like this so much. I don't dislike it, but comparing it to Drive My Car as an opener??? It is not even close in any respect. And the lyrics to Big Barn Bed are among Paul's worst and I'm a fan of Paul the lyricist, not one of those who constantly criticizes him.

The Wife was gone today and I could play really loud the Steve Hoffman remastered Red Rose Speedway and what a treat. It is so Postulate-worthy!
It is among the best playing that any Wings line-up ever did. Denny Seiwell is just amazing on drums and Paul rediscovers the bass.
"Get On The Right Thing" rocks, it is played so well and Paul doesn't hold back vocally.
I must say RRS has leaped up even higher in my estimation after today's session with it.
On a not so bright note, should Paul really be doing "My Love" anymore? That 2010 version from South America was cringe-worthy. "And when the cupboard's bare....." Paul couldn't even sing that. his voice cracks apart.
Yikes! We need good memories of Paul live.

Little Lamb Dragonfly
I love this song but I had to vote for something, I have always loved the way this album opens with Big Barn Bed and My Love and I could not vote for either of those two.

Little lamb dragonfly. Coming back to this song after a long gap, I was struck by how much pre-amble there is and how long it takes to get into its stride. As mentioned above, the key section of this song ('Dragonfly, fly by my window...') is great, but the rest is pretty disposable and detracts from the whole. I admit, though, that one of these days I need to sit down and listen to the remastered version and give the whole album a proper run through rather than re-sample clips on youtube for the purposes of this tourney. Maybe LLD (and RRS in general) just needs a bit of patience, time and the best possible sound.

Yesterday afternoon as I was waiting for the Rapture to begin I really had an epiphany listening to RRS loud. It is very well played and well sung by Paul(and Denny in the background) at least although there are a few odd Linda moments where she sounds flat but not all of them. RRS is not perfect but it is very endearing. I think it is so melodic and I am blown away by all of the musical playing.

This is shocking-the best song by far on this mediocre album ("Little Lamb Dragonfly") is losing???
I can understand not voting for "My Love", but what is the deal with "Big Barn Bed"? Should have been voted off well before this. I know I'm repeating myself, but nobody is giving me an answer!

I think some folks, sure as heck not me, think "Little Lamb Dragonfly" is a too long dirge. I think many like "Big Barn Bed" because Paul opened James Paul McCartney with it and the band was shown playing before the clapping t.v.'s Kind of a cool start to that show.

Coach, I will try and explain, because I have 'Big barn bed' slated in as my winner - almost to my own disbelief! I don't think anyone would try and argue that BBB is a McCartney classic, but in an album of sappy, vageuly pleasant but inconsequential songs, at least 'Big barn bed' is a bright opener, rocks a bit, is quirky and a bit unusual and doesn't take itself too seriously. At the start of the tourney, I would never have imagined in a million years having BBB as my top pick, but as each round has progressed, I found myself not wanting to kick it off. It's the song I would most like to listen to as I dance round the living room with a can of strong ale in one hand and a packet of pork scratchings in the other. Keep onnnnnnnn, SLEEPING IN A BIG BARN BED!!

What a way to go out, listening to Red Rose Speed Way on full blast ;D

When the Rapture does take place, one wouldn't want the inherently bad-timing to be playing John's song "God!" That would be the time to be playing any one of several George Harrison songs like "My Sweet Lord" or "Hear Me Lord," et al.
