Well after two ties (nearly a third with JoeK), triple BBB (sounds like a large bra size..lol) the dark horse (which I thought would come in third place), has won this Survivor (Cheers from JSD & Woolie.. ;D..) Well what I say with *Big Barn Bed*….A terrific rocker, and a great track that kicked off the RRS - album (plus the James Paul McCartney TV - Show). Big Barn Bed
(Live in Newcastle '73)
How the songs finished off… (26 May 11) #2 – RED ROSE SPEEDWAY (Wings; 1973)
01 - Big Barn Bed 02 - My Love 03 - Little Lamb Dragonfly 04 - One More Kiss 05 - Get on the Right Thing 06 - When the Night 07 - Single Pigeon 08 - Medley: Hold Me Tight/Lazy Dynamite/Hands of Love/Power Cut 09 - Loup (1st Indian on the Moon)

Thanks for hosting the Survivor, Rocko! This was one of the most nail-biting cliffhangers we've had in quite a while. Good job!

It is the best song on this album, but that's akin to being the best ice hockey player in Saudi Arabia... My personal results would have had "Single Pigeon" second with "One More Kiss" taking the bronze. JcS

Thanks Rocko for a superb Survivor on Paul's 3rd best album after Wild Life and Ram!
My "dream top 3" here would have been: 1. Big Barn Bed; 2. Little Lamb Dragonfly: and 3. Get On The Right Thing.
I shed a tear for those who can't or refuse to enjoy RRS.

Thanks Rocko -- Great tourney with a worthy winner. Armadillos everywhere will be leaping in joy! The final running order looks about right -- 'Loup' and the medley at the bottom and 'BBB' and 'My love', for all its over-produced sugariness, at the top. If you'd have asked me at the start of the contest to name the likely winner, 'BBB' wouldn't even have crossed my mind, but it has turned out to be a formidable and resilient contender with a definite edge on every other song on RRS with the possible exceptions of 'Dragonfly' and 'My love.' In the end it won out because it rocks! The demise of 'Single pigeon' in the third round of this tourney was truly astonishing. It's a beautifully-crafted song with a great tune and touching lyric and deserved to be in the top three or four at the very least. All I can deduce is that the entire message Board had a moment of collective madness. Here is a great, simple, unadorned demo version of that song for you all to listen to and rue your mistake!

Not the most obvious winner, but this kind of competition often throws out everybody's second favourite as winner when everyone has different favourites.
But it has been a fun competition, with lots of passionate discussion - many thanks, Rocko!

This is the worst vote I have ever seen in one of these contests. I just listened to Big Barn Bed again, figuring maybe I was missing something. Nope. It is a middle of the pack tune on a below average album. Little Lamb Dragonfly should have won. My Love is better. Single Pigeon and One Last Kiss are better. Big Barn Bed can battle Get On The Right Thing and the Medley for the next spot. I guess I really don't like the midtempo McCartney stuff with wretched lyrics. Stuff like Bip Bop and Three Legs. Big Barn Bed is better than either of those songs, but they are kind of in the same vein.

This is the worst vote I have ever seen in one of these contests. Democracy can be ugly but it all averages out. I am guilty on voting against "Single Pigeon" too soon but I am a guy who loves this entire album so every vote hurt! As I often remind Winston O'Boogie, just because your favorite songs got voted off here doesn't mean that they are banned here for our future discussion and enjoyment. They're all still good! I have long thought that banning from discussion here for fixed periods of time losing songs/albums/album sides in proportion to how early they exit a Survivor/Tourney would add to the stakes and drama of each Survivor/Tourney but I have never figured out how to enforce that.

Great Survivor Mr Rocko, I love Triple B, so I don't mind it taking the honours here although I think the best 4 songs are Triple B, My Love , LLD and Single Pigeon, it's funny how the final rankings almost look like the running order of the album. Side 2 is on RRS definitely means Side 2
