BAND ON THE RUN, Side 2
One of the best albums of Paul's solo career...
It would take more than a Ringo plodder to beat it....

BOTR-2
Hmmm, not much "discussion" needed on this match.
Interesting, that in the new "Rock Band" game, the tracks selected to represent BOTR are, no surprise, "BOTR" and "Let Me Roll It". However, "Helen Wheels" is the other track that is being included and that is a bit of a head scratcher (what, no "Jet")?

Helen Wheels and 1985 give this to Macca.
Roto2 is - um - not very good at all. Paul's side contains the ridiculous Picasso's Last Words, but Helen Wheels and 1985 are fairly good.

Glad a side of Roto pulled an upset, but it can't compete with BOTR.

Easy win for BOTR. I consider each of the songs on BOTR as superior to anything on Rotogravure (and I'm not a Rotogravure hater-I voted for it last round!)

BAND ON THE RUN, Side 2It is hard for me to get excited here. At least Joey is using the U.S. BOTR so we have "Helen Wheels." Without it I may have thrown my hands in the air and walked off a cliff. I am still reeling from the manifest miscarriage of justice of Wings Wild Life 1 losing to the horrid RINGO'S ROTOGRAVURE, Side 2. There was a conspiracy going on that I can't put my finger on: either a backlash against RTP's Macca re-education camps or in competition with the brilliant, if misunderstood, The JSD Postulate which holds WWL up as proof of Paul's devil-may-care early brilliance.

I have to go for BOTR. I love Ringo but he seemed to lose interest in his albums in the mid to late 70s. He seemed to be in decline with Goodnight Vienna and did not make a decent comeback until the 90s with Time Takes Time. Anyway I didn't actually realise that Helen Wheels was not on the UK release originally until I paid a bit more attention these last few years. My 1990s CD has it placed as track 10 with Country Dreamer at 11. Does it add to the quality of side II. Hell yes! Great album but without Helen Wheels it loses something. Quite a lot actually. I think that in this day and age we can all listen to new albums with the same tracks nowadays. The CD is dying and so the global internet download market will surely be the future in this shrinking world. It may be the end of albums as we know it

Not even close, and no reason trying to justify/explain my vote for BOTR 2.

I (kind of) wish I'd voted for Ringo's Rotogravure, to show that he's still in our gang, even if his records are mostly poor.
Perhaps I'll get a chance in a later round to give a Ringo side a nice push. Perhaps if the competition by chance is not too strong. Perhaps ...

Considering that Rock Band 3 added a keyboard it's a shame they didn't go with 1985, it would have been a blast to play. Not that I would know since the keyboard wasn't released in Mexico though.

BAND ON THE RUN, Side 2For those who didn't get to see Paul in concert this past year, you can rest assured that Paul ROCKED on "1985"! ;D JCV

Paul's best vs Ringo's best (IMO)
hmmm a tough one, BOTR has the greater songs but not by much, I believe Mamunia drags it down alot and No Words and Picasso's last words have some competition but you can't go past 1985 and Helen Wheels and not even a sympathy vote for Ringo is warranted.

Eh, this was a push. Macc'a side may be a bit better. But Richie deserves better than a shnide.
Go Ringo! 17 more votes to go! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
