Very difficult - these two seem as evenly matched as anything. George snuck it, just.

For me, this is going to be a hard decision.
ATMP Side 2 has several excellent songs: but If Not For You, though a good song, has an arrangement I don't particularly care for.
POB Side 2 has three great songs: Remember, Well Well Well and God; one chilling ditty My Mummy's Dead; and two rather good "take-a-breather songs" (where the listener gets a break from the intensity of surrounding songs).
How to decide? POB2 is one half of a masterpiece; ATMP2 is one quarter of a masterpiece. Hmm.
Mr Guinness may help me decide ... but in my heart of hearts I think I know which side is going to get my vote. But no hasty decisions.

PLASTIC ONO BAND, Side 2
This is hard. I am glad that this is not ATMP-3 which would be harder for me.
What costs ATMP-2 my vote are "If Not For You" and Spector's sabotage of "Let It Down" which I love as an acoustic studio demo on Beware Of ABKCO.
I think John's "Remember" is one of the coolest solo Beatles' songs of all time and I find little fault in the rest. "God" breaks my heart every time.

I've not had a Guinness in the last half-hour or so, as its morning here (just after 7.30 am on Wednesday 16 Feb), and though Guinness in nice, coffee is better right now... Anyway, it's JL/POB side 2 that I'm voting for. It's just too good. Even its "take-a-breather songs" Love and Look At Me are very fine. Well done, Johnny. You might take it out yet! McCabe

THis one was easy for me. ATMP is a great album but this side is a little light against the classic POB side. John would be rolling over in his grave if he loses this round.

McCabe I think I agree with you McCabe. Not even 10pm back here in Merseyside, England. But I'm leaving off the Guinness for a while. Although I take no responsibility if my vote was corrupted by it during any stage of this competition and reserve the right to make use of it at any time in the future.
POB 2 it is!

sometimes I do points some times not.
Ringo is on just about eveything here so no extra points to either side.
ALL THINGS MUST PASS, Side 2
1. "What Is Life" 10 Another shoulda been Beatle classic 2. "If Not for You" (Bob Dylan) 9- a high mark for a "cover" but George owns this one. 3. "Behind That Locked Door" 10 4. "Let It Down" 9 5. "Run of the Mill" 8.5
46.5
PLASTIC ONO BAND, Side 2
1. "Remember" – 10 Another shoulda been Beatle classic 2. "Love" – 10 Another shoulda been Beatle classic
3. "Well Well Well"8 used to love this but it has aged 4. "Look at Me" – 8.5 White Album cut 5. "God" – 9.5 6. "My Mummy's Dead" – NA see how they run
46
ATMP by a hair. If I dood it tomorrow score might be different.

Oh boy... I don't think I can vote against a side that has God on it, and I don't think I can vote against a side that has Run of the Mill.
If it were the full albums I would vote for POB, but here I may have to flip a coin.

I went with ATMP side 2. "What Is Life" and "Run O The Mill" are my two favorite songs on these sides. Everything else may be a slight edge to POB, but my two favorites tilt my vote to ATMP.

ALL THINGS MUST PASS, Side 2 Enjoyable music has to win out over therapy with melody everytime Or "George Over Anyone Else" everytime. ;D I went with PLASTIC ONO BAND here (no, I don't always vote for John!). This isn't an easy choice by any means... but in the end I think JL squeaks by as a better side. If it had been another side of ATMP. I might have really been stuck.

I ended up going with POB as I don't like "Behind that locked Door" and "Let it Down" as much as the other songs on either side.

I went with George this time. There's nothing on side 2 that I DON'T like; oh, some of it is overproduced, but as far as putting it on the turntable and playing it from start to finish, it's fine. POB 2 starts out great and almost gets worse as each song comes up. The only exception is that I think "Look At Me" is better than "Well Well Well," but otherwise, each song is weaker than the one before it.

Two very strong Lennon Sides losing to what I feel are weaker challengers. I feel a tiny bit better about ATMP-2 but BOTR-2 is lame, it has always coasted off BOTR-1. The version we are using was not even assembled by Paul himself but by a suit. I guess BOTR at any cost is the mantra here. I am stunned at the hatred towards "How Do You Sleep," a song recorded about 40 years ago. Paul has never taken it as bad as many here.

If anything "How Do You Sleep" shows how much John truly cared about Paul, you don't write something like that for someone you've forgotten. Sometimes the worst fights are between brothers and where the meanest things are said, "How Do You Sleep" is a great example of that. Oh well....
