Just not going to rehash old points. The V & M Rock Show medley is a strong LP opening and very underrated, but this side just can't stand up to the cuts on ATMP.
Edge to ATMP.

ALL THINGS MUST PASS, Side 3
ATMP-3 has four songs that are more Beatles' worthy than most, but not all, of the 1969 Lennon/McCartney Beatles songs.
Only "Awaiting On You All" is not Beatles' worthy although many here like it(I don't care for it). It would have been funny if George had brought this song to John and Paul for consideration for a Beatles' album. Neither John nor Paul would have chanted the names of the lord by 1969.
Paul does pretty darn good on four songs on V&M-1 although these four don't come close to George's aforementioned four. Still, tracks 1, 2, 3, & 6 are quite enjoyable. I think "Love In Song" is a great, lost McCartney gem.
The problem starts with "You Gave Me The Answer," a twee song that makes "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" look like "Hey Jude." The worst problem though on V&M-1 is "Magneto and Titanium Man" which is the song one journalist wrote was proof that Paul had fried his brain with too much pot. Comic book nonsense.

ALL THINGS MUST PASS, Side 3
Paul is competing here with one of his best solo albums but it is up against the BEST solo album of all....

This one is no contest, George by far.
I will say, since we'll be saying goodbye to V&M here, that it has one of the best openings of a Macca album, the title song has a beautiful melody and nice lyrical imagery, 'A good friend of mine follows the stars, Venus & Mars are all right tonight'. Rockshow is a great, fun rocker, plus he opened his shows in Mexico with those songs last year (well, actually almost all of the tour opened the same). Good times.
"Love in song" is beautiful. The side then stumbles with a couple of boring songs but it ends great with "Letting Go", great brass in that one.
Come to think of it, V&M can actually put on a fight but it cannot surpass songs like "Beware of Darkness"

V&M1
This is incredibly close - I love every track on both of these sides. You get a minute more music on V&M, and that is the sole basis for my choice.

I'll waste a vote here by giving it to Paul for VENUS AND MARS. I just like the varied differences in the songs on this side, compared to George's side (which is a great side too).

Um, V&M. I think this side of ATMP is fantastic - I love Beware Of Darkness (gorgeous) and All Things Must Pass is, as it should be, a classic. Wonderful. I like the other tracks a fair amount though I'm not that enamoured of Awaiting On You All. V&M - it helps that Paul's got an extra song for me here. The start is killer and I think Love In Song and Letting Go are top, top, top Wings tracks. Love them. I could manage the rest of my life without hearing Magneto (though it's okay, I guess, in sound rather than lyrics for me...) but I adore You Gave Me The Answer. I know I shouldn't but I love the variety in Paul's music and I'm a sucker for these 'granny' songs, to be honest. It's sweet and fresh to my ears. So, yeah, I think two of George's songs are 'better' than Paul's best two on his side but I prefer, if I have to listen to the entirety of both sides, to hear V&M. So, Paul it is.

Although I have voted for Paul's albums based on their entertainment value and V&M is a great album in that respect I've voted for George this time as I think he deserves it.

All Things Must Pass, Side 3 - a great side of rock music. Not only is All Things a rock classic, side 3 is the classic side of that album. Wonderful, wonderful music.
Venus & Mars, either side - ah, the Crimson Dynamo just couldn't cut it no more. Neither could Paul. Vacuous pop, tailor-made for people who thought Wings was a cool band.
Off to vote ...

V&M 1 showed more strength in this match-up than I thought it would. It's a nice side, but I'm not a huge fan of the faux-tortured "Love In Song" or "You Gave Me The Answer." That double let-down in the middle of the program dooms it in this match, as ATMP 3 is solid from start to finish.

I will say that The JSD Postulate aside, V&M-1 is a pretty strong Album Side.
I wish for the sake of the whole album that Paul would have worked harder on Side 2. The hit LTWTMS is very nice and the V&M Reprise is cool but Paul simply ran out of steam. Were "Junior's Farm/Sally G" the year before? I know Paul got a wonderful double-sided single from those two songs but like SFF/Penny Lane, maybe he should have held them for the V&M album.
