Another one still too close to call, so I'll bump it back to the top.

I guess this is what long Thanksgiving weekends are for...
I stumbled across this video of George playing "This Song" on a German TV show called Disco'77 from back in, you guessed it, 1977. Weird and totally out of character for him, don't you think?

Weird and totally out of character for him, don't you think? Wow, that was weirdly cool! Even though lip-synching, I love to see George just pretending to be in action. I love his self-conscious smiles throughout! He could learn a thing or two from Keith Richards about tougher looking guitarist moves! Absent that, keep those feet still George like a baseball batter or golfer. George has happy feet on stage and it looks kind of dorky. Keep those feet planted!

I thought John pretty much nailed Paul with those lyrics. Paul stopped the digs starting with Dear Friend. What is strange is the reason Paul wrote his little digs on RAM in the first place. I don't think he was provoked by John, Paul said he was just annoyed by J&Y's antics and I'll never understand why. Are you kidding? Did you forget the Rolling Stone interview Dec. 1970/Jan. 1971. John did a lot of provoking. Now do you understand why Paul did some comparatively mild poking on Ram?

Yes I read that interview and I took that as John just venting on everything, I don't think John said anything harsh that could not have been answered by Paul when he got his opportunity at Rolling Stone or another magazine. Paul felt rejected by John in that John wanted to pursue artistic endeavours with Yoko and that's what it boils down to. Paul wanted to continue and John didn't.

I found that interview enormously upsetting when I read it in 1970. It seemed as if John was saying that everything which had gone before - everything which had been so important to me in my adolescence, effectively - counted for nothing. It was an absolute rejection of The Beatles, and amounted to a rejection of me, too. Hindsight illuminates what Lennon was going through, but that doesn't alter what it felt like reading it at the time. It's all very well John saying "I didn't mean it, I was off my head, I was just venting" - you put it out at the time and stood behind it, it bloody well hurt, and you don't get a free ride now just because you say that you didn't mean it then. And you certainly don't get me saying "That Lennon! What a guy! Always says what's on his mind, he's a real up front sort of person."
If it made me feel that bad, I can't imagine what it made Paul feel like. And I do think that maybe Paul didn't deserve the vitriol which John spat at him.

I have to disagree with you there only because there are things that Paul did to John which obviously hurt John, especially with regards to Yoko, so all you are really seeing is one side of the story. The difference is John didn't keep it behind closed doors. Not saying that it's right but how do you really know that 'Paul didn't deserve the virtiol which John spat at him' ?

I'm going on the limited amount I know from what was in the public domain - Paul offering shelter at Cavendish Avenue, and also the transcripts from Twickenham where Paul is frequently heard saying (in John's absence) that this is what John has chosen, so its up to the others to try to understand and support. John was - not without reason - a bit paranoid at the time.
What did Paul do which hurt John?

This is 10/8 at the moment, and I've not voted yet. I'll bump it back for visibility in case others are/were still pondering the choice.
