B. Blues has some fine crafted country songs, but Ringo is merely filling in on vocals.
If it was an album full of stuff like Early 1970, Coochy Coochy and Blindman- which although country flavored are more Beatle soloish if that makes any sense... maybe it could compete, but not with POB.

I think Ringo may have his work cut out for him here.

This is a mismatch of gargantuan proportions.

I'll need a week or so to think about it. ( ) POB, natch... I'm not a fan of the LP BEAUCOUPS OF BLUES, though I do enjoy the title track and "Coochy Coochy"...

Not even ... fair. Gee.
Even one song from JL/POB would beat both sides together of BOB.

PS Remember though that Ringo plays on JL/POB.

Not even ... fair. Gee. Even one song from JL/POB would beat both sides together of BOB. I voted for POB 2 over BOB 1, but had it been reversed (POB 1 against BOB 2), I would have gone for Ringo. The first four songs on Side 2 are great ("Remember" and "Love") or good ("Well Well Well" wears out its wel-wel-welcome before it ends, and "Look At Me" is OK). "God" (the song, not the Deity) is a dead bore after the first play. However, the 1st side of BOB is the weaker of the two and has nothing approaching "Remember" or "Love," and Lennon wins this one easily. JcS

POB2, easily.
First 4 songs are amazing. Remaining 2 not so good.
BOB has one good song, the title cut.

Even being less of a fan of POB than most people on here, this is still an easy win for POB. Ringo doing Country was a decent idea, but a whole album is a bit much, heck half an album side is more than enough. And this is the better side of POB. "Remember" has a nice piano. "Love" is the one song on this album with a beautiful melody, though "Look At Me" come close as well. "God" is more of a concept than song. Better as art than music. "Well Well Well" is too long. The finale is a bit morbid. But POB gets the vote and I will be surprised if BOB gets more than a couple votes.

"God" is more of a concept than song. Better as art than music. ""God" is a song by which we measure our concepts of art..." JcS

PLASTIC ONO BAND, Side 2
I really love every song on POB-2. As I wrote elsewhere, "Remember" may be one of the coolest solo Beatle songs ever. It has a fantastic groove.
"God" still sends shivers down my spine although when I first heard this at the age of 14, I thought that I was going to be struck with lightning for digging this song.
And I must say, "My Mummy's Dead" is a favorite because it is so haunting, so primal, it goes right to the darkest corner of John's soul. It is in no way a throwaway, even though short. I actually prefer "Look At Me" to "Love" but both are very good.
BEAUCOUPS OF BLUES, Side 1 is okay, I love the title track but nothing else there is going to compete with me against JL/POB.

PLASTIC ONO BAND, Side 2
That's a fair pasting you've given Ringo John, it's a bit like you borrowed Pete Shotton's washboard ,engraved P.O.B. on it and smashed it over Ringo's head.....

Whilst Beacoups of Blues is wonderfully produced the stark and bare Plastic Ono Band wins easily. This is one of the reasons I loved John's stuff. Much as Macca would vary his tracks on an album. John would often dedicate the whole album to a certain style or loose theme.
