I cannot wait for the stripped down version of DF! Just John's voice "as nature intended." Will Yoko's songs be stripped down too? I haven't read. Yes, you could hear the samples with both John's and Yoko's songs. And I still crap all over the idea of releasing this album. Thumbs Down, Yoko. Thanks, Joe! That makes sense. It would be weird for John's songs to be stripped down and Yoko's remain the originals.

Man, I've never understood the disdain for Yoko's songs on DF. I think her contributions actually make the album more varied, interesting, "rocking" and, ultimately, what J&Y intended...a dialogue between this married couple that had gone through the ups and downs of married life and had been able to hold it together. It's, by far, my favorite "John Lennon" solo album.
But, I voted for BOTR-1;)

I can answer for me--I don't like hearing the voice of one of the participants in the dialogue... JcS

It is the best reissue post-John IMO save perhaps Milk And Honey which actually had new material.

BOTR 1
Which I believe is Paul's finest side. No dead weight here, perhaps the only time in his solo career? We'll see.
Ah, did not like voting against DF1, 4 solid Lennon songs, high quality stuff. But then you have 3 Yoko breaks mixed in, and I can't ignore these any more than I can ignore the Paul songs that RTP would have us forget exist. There they are in the vinyl, bringong down the listening experience. Still, DF1 may well have gotten my vote but for the competition. Tough luck.
