ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE - THE BEATLES
*Our World* - Live Worldwide
June 25, 1967
The Beatles performed 'All You Need Is Love' on the BBC Our World live worldwide TV link-up live from EMI's massive studio one.
The studio was filled with potted flowers and The Beatles wore uniforms of green, pink and orange, similar to the Sgt. Pepper cover. Waist long flowing scarves wafted from their necks but the medieval look was marred slightly by the headphones they all wore, as well as the usual studio clutter of microphones, headphone leads, instruments and music stands. Among the guests were Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Graham Nash and Gary Leeds. Keith Moon fooled around on the drums with Ringo during the long wait before transmission. Simon, Marijka and Joshi, from The Fool, wore the flowing patchwork patterns and headscarves they would shortly market through the Apple boutique. The Small Faces sat close to each other in new Granny Takes A Trip clothes. Mick Jagger sat on the floor with Marianne Faithfull, close by Paul's high stool, wearing a silk jacket with a pair of psychedelic eyes painted on it, smoking a very fat joint in front of the 200 million viewers, the day before he was to be busted for drugs. "All You Need Is Love!" streamers and balloons floated down from the ceiling and the audience all sang along. Placards with the message ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE written large in many languages were paraded before the cameras. The vocals, Paul's bass, Ringo's drums, George's solo and the orchestra were all mixed live on the air. In the control room afterwards George Martin played back the tape. "Another big hit!" said Paul.
Paul: "We had one message for the whole world - love. We need more love in the world. It's a period in history that needs love."

'Yellow submarine.' Out of the remaining bunch, it is the song that at the moment I would least like to hear and be most likely to 'skip'. Down periscope...

(What happened to the poll function?) Sorry Joe, some posties here can't understand *plain english* (even thou some claim to be experts on grammar?), I put up with it in one round where 3 or 4 of them would click the poll only, and not reply their song title (one postie, preferred to do both on Joey's tourney, figure that out.. )...I put up with it a second time in another round, then in the last R#6, it was disaster.... It took 3 days the last round, with a 3 way tie (YS, 64, Sgt Pepper), with 3 or 4? posties buggering it up for all of us (by using the poll only), eventually I had to PM a postie, who's not voting in this tourney, to break the tie? Count up the votes yourself, look at the poll, and you tell me if its a mess or not....... With Joey's tourney you all don't like giving a song or album title, but prefer writing a paragraph so you can create discussions and debate's....I don't know where this rule came from, because I've being here on this forum since 2001 (started posting mid 2002), and for years, it didn't matter whether you replied a song title, or 10 paragraph's in your message... I'm still guilty of still typing the song/album title today, why? Time, family, work etc......For an example with Joey's (tourney) the albums BOTR & LITMW, I've had both albums for +35yr?, played BOTR album (50 million times) more than LITMW, to me it hasn't aged or its fluff...I've being an obsessed McCartney/Wings fan (which not many here are?) for years, now you tell me, do you have to be a *Rocket Scientist*, to figure out what my vote is going to be, or do I need too debate with you, RTP, and McCabe, all day/night which I (sometimes?) don't have time? So with this survivor tourney, you could debate/discuss what you like to your hearts content, but as a minimum, all I wanted was a song title only, and I couldn't get that. This isn't the first time its happened, It happened in the last Survivor with *Cosmo* two years ago...Again I started off with a poll, and halfway into it, I removed it..I remember you were disappointed then as well? So yeah from now on I'II stick to the orginal way we used to do it, without the polls, its quicker and easier...... (nor do I have to worry about phantom voters.... ...)

Rocko,
I think people probably fail to come onto the thread to put their name to their vote out of nothing more than sheer laziness. It's so easy just to hit the vote button and move on.
It also strikes me that there are numerous lurkers on this board, some of whose names I see appearing at the bottom of the menu page virtually every day. Some have been visiting for months and years and have never posted a single word! I think it is highly likely, Rocko, that these 'mystery votes' belong to people who are just too shy and/or reticent to appear and speak up in person -- nothing more sinister than that.

When I'm 64Imagine folks being shy or reticent to appear by post before our lot! ;D I have joined The Avett Brothers Board(my first, last and only non-Beatles Message Board) and you literally get killed with kindness over there but it is refreshing not corny. I may find my future wife there......oh right, I'm already married. I am still in my honeymoon phase with AB music so I am like the little snot-nosed JSD in 7th-8th grade soaking up everything Beatles and getting pretty darn tough as I have to fight my way through the school busses and hallways with the bigger 9th graders who thought in 1975 that The Beatles were passe. Anyway, a Member here who starts and administers a tourney gets to make the rules just as long as they don't violate posted Board Rules for that tourney(no tourneys on pornographic images for instance!). I echo ursa's thanks to Joey and Rocko for starting and administering these tourneys as discussion is what is most fun, not results as I have to keep reminding myself as JL/POB plods through barely winning while BOTR wipes out everything in sight and in this Survivor, "When I'm 64" will not go away!

Lucy.
On the tracks remaining, at this exact moment, Lucy appeals to me least. Nothing any more scientific than that!

I know I could do this by looking at each post and recording it, but can someone update the vote totals. That's what I miss about the poll-just being ableto check in quickly and see how it is going.

Find concert videos and a rocking, punkgrass song of theirs is "Talk On Indolence." "Colorshow" is like The Clash, if the Clash were from North Carolina and used a banjo. ;D Let's not knock banjos: as the wonderful film Nowhere Boy reminds us, John Lennon first learned on his mother Julia's banjo! How 'bout that Yellow Submarine Songtrack!

Yeah, your probably right, there are a lot of posties/lurkers that appear continually at the bottom of our MB each day, plus there are one or two of our regular posties here that are just sheer lazy.....Anyway, you've calmed & cheered me after reading your comments Woolie, and thx for replying......
