Let me say right off that I consider the album MMT to be not a legit Beatles album. I used that as a reason for voting against MMT1 in its fight against PPM1 earlier. But my reasoning applied to Side 1. Side 2 is a different matter.
Why? Side 2 collects, in a series of hammer blows, five wonderful Beatle songs. With Pepper, and the MMT EPs, they constitute the Beatles 1967 output. Absolutely magnificent.
My take on these songs, one by one. HELLO GOODBYE Another of those songs that many fans dislike (so repetitive, weak lyrics, blah blah). But, hey, this IS 1967, and this song has a great vibe and is a classic of that year. Just let it flow over you man, yeah, and through you.
STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER. No justification needed. A work of genius. And a song with a touch of sadness, vacillation, and regret for what could have been.
PENNY LANE. Very good song, and I love it - but does anyone think there was a better nostalgia song in there somewhere? John Lennon's first "draft" of In My Life listed Liverpool landmarks: was that the genesis of Paul's Penny Lane?
BABY YOU'RE A RICH MAN. Some fans and "experts" turn their noses up at this - "indulgent Beatles" they cry. They're wrong. This is a real genuine Summer-of-Love classic. Get with the vibe again, man.
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE. And here is the anthem of that Summer. Maybe a little awkward to hear for some - but not me. All you need is love ... YES!
Oh, and A Hard Day's Night Side 2? Yeah, it IS great, but it's in a fight with a very big and tough opponent. Sadly, I can hear the count; it's gone.
MMT2 for me.

MMT2 for me as well. I love all the songs. I like all of the AHDN songs, except for "When I Get Home", which rubs me the wrong way ( don't ask me why).

MMT2 also.
AHDN2 is fatally weakened by I'll Cry Instead and (particularly) When I Get Home. There is no weakness on MMT2.

A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, Side 2
I am not being a wiseguy.
I concede that nothing on AHDN-2 will beat SFF. The rest of MMT-2 is vulnerable.
Paul's "Things We Said Today," written from the heart, beats the otherwise majestic "Penny Lane" which is Paul being more clever than from the heart.
"Any Time at All" is romantic John at his tenderest and will sneak past "All You Need Is Love," which is great for a live broadcast but rather messy otherwise.
"I'll Cry Instead" and "When I Get Home" tag-team to thump the gooey "Hello Goodbye." A little C & W in the former and a little R & B in the latter will always beat bubblegum.
The beautiful harmony vocals and John's lead vocal on "I'll Be Back" shreds the hippy-dippy "Baby Your A Rich Man Too."
And to be ornery, I'm unleashing John's badass, junkyard dog "You Can't Do That" on the precious SFF to bloody it a little, even SFF doesn't get a free pass.
See, that was easy. AHDN-2 wins by dividing and conquering.

Hello, Goodbye" "Strawberry Fields Forever" "Penny Lane" "Baby, You're a Rich Man" "All You Need Is Love"
That is one hell of a line up all pulled from top quality singles and all representing a long lost summer. AHDN runs closer than the current voting suggests but it's songs are not playing as strong a hand . As vectisfabber says Nicely summed up.

MMT 2 for me.
I've said many times that MMT is my favorite Beatle album, unless you don't count it as such, but I do, so it is.
Well, I may not have said it just like that, unless I did, in which case, I'm saying it again.
And my favorite song of the five on Side 2? "Baby You're A Rich Man." Yeah, that's right, the stitch job of two songs a la "A Day In The Life."
I think "Hello Goodbye" gets blasted more than it should, too, because it's a really deep track, a reflection on the upcoming Beatle breakup. Paul, playing the role of the positive "we can do this, lads" and the others in the background saying "No, I can still until it's time to go," meaning they have an eye on the door. (No, I don't REALLY believe for a minute Paul wrote it that way!)
AHDN 2 has a couple that I'm not wild about--"When I Get Home" and "I"ll Be Back" (but I've warmed to the latter a bit the last couple of times I played the album). But I do adore that album as a whole, and the second side doesn't let it down much--just a little.
AHDN 2 might have beaten some of the other 15 sides remaining in this tournament, but MMT 2 is not one of them.

I love every song on MMT side 2 so this was an easy choice. "I'll Be Back" is the only AHDN side 2 song that stands up to the songs on MMT side 2 in my opinion. My only (very slight) hesitation is that it wasn't an original album side, but in this case the Americans got it right and now the US MMT has become the official version so I have no hesitation in casting my vote for MMT side 2.

Gotta go with MMT. You gotta figure Sgt Pepper was a hard act to follow but they aquitted themselves nicely with that roster of hits.

Strictly from a familiarity breeds contempt standpoint, I'll go with the fresh, hip, now sound of AHDN2!

Let me say right off that I consider the album MMT to be not a legit Beatles album. I concur. And, as you say between it and Pepper you've got 1967 for The Fabs covered. I've never listened to it as an album but as a compilation. Having said that I'm glad that EMI released it back in the 80s instead of including the MMT tracks on the Past Masters albums. I find the fact that Lennon endorsed it reassuring. Never heard any of the other Fabs comment on it.

I think I have more or less completely embraced MMT as an album -- it's not something I even think about any more. Even though the track listing is a bit illogical, (SF and PL's natural home should really be 'Pepper') as a neat compilation of all the non-Pepper stuff from 1967 it makes perfect sense....and I have accepted it.
I don't have a clue about any of the other American variants, nor the wonderful world of Dexterised sound. Capitol's tweaking of MMT, however, works fine for me and I am happy to judge it alongside all the other UK titles on a level playing field...
...and it's just won this contest -- MMT-2.

Again, I can't vote because it's too close to call.
Much as I dislike Magical McCartney Tour, those individual songs are pretty strong -- but they should be, since they're recycled singles that were up to a year old. AHDN side 2 is really good despite a bit of filler ('When I Get Home' and maybe 'I'll Cry Instead'). So, I have no preference at all here.
