Best case scenario: One last Lennon-McCartney flash of genius Worst case scenario: Drunken noodling a la "Toot and a Snore"...

Paul was very stiff with Wings-no guests on anything other than studio musicians.
I'll go with the drunken noodling with paparazzi similar to the Troubadour/Smother Bros. incident, especially after Harry comes down to join. Paul caught with both hands in the refrigerator at the brothel claims innocence. Linda follows, waves to the press and says it's okay, I was with him. John follows with a shit eating grin. ;D

Paul was very stiff with Wings-no guests on anything other than studio musicians. He did use Dave Mason on Listen to What the Man Said -- I see him as more guest than studio musician. Then there's Rockestra. The Wings era...was it really big on "guest" appearances? I think these collaborations gradually happened more in the 1980s and through today (where it's often a selling point for aging artists).

Fame...Whatever Gets You Through the Night...Badge...Ringo...Cheech and Chong Los Cuchinos...
back then it just wasn't public selling points.

On an off shoot of the Beatle reunion thread- whaddaya think would have happened if John flew to New Orleans to meet Paul? Yeah this is a great one. I think what stopped Lennon going to New Orleans was the fact that he re-united with Yoko. I could be wrong here, dunno... There are a few other things that could have come off but didn't. # Lennon joining George onstage in 1974. # Lennon and McCartney turning up on Saturday Night Live. I'd like to put in Lennon joins George and Ringo at the Bangladesh gig but I don't think that ever could have happened - but it would have looked and sounded brilliant! 9

I thought this thread was going to be about the former members of the Plastic Ono Band and Wings joining together as some sort of tribute band.I thought this thread was going to tell me who the selected "singers" were for this material......

The point of the thread was that Paul was recording V & M with Wings, not as a solo artist. Would he have just done a couple of side songs with John, would John have participated perhaps in looser tunes like My Carnival? Or would he (John) have just played some uncredited rhythym guitar?

They would have written something for sure.
