3 -- I see I tend to post songs that I already enjoy. Anyway, TIME TAKES TIME is an excellent album that all Beatles fans should own. One of Ringo's all-time best albums, and very "Beatley" in places.
AFTER ALL THESE YEARS grabs me from the start and never lets go.

I like that it rocks but as a song I give it a 2. Ringo's voice, though fairly pleasant, does not have the tonality and resonance of an outstanding singer. Its just not as pleasing to the ear as many singers. Its kind of nasal, it lacks range and flexibility. That puts it at a disadvantage when it is evaluated on the basis of musicality. I'm not talking about his talents as a drummer or songwriter. But I don't think he, as a singer, gives his songs a great chance to be outstanding. The melody has to be extraordinary to overcome his vocal limitations. He sings in key, but there is more to singing than that.

I think Ringo has a number of outstanding songs. I think you're approaching this is a way too technical way.

I give this a 4. I thinks it rocks hard in the best rockabilly fashion. It is co-written by Ringo and Johnny Warman who helped Ringo on a few songs here. Time Takes Time is a great album and I was just reading that there is a Paul written song "Angel in Disguise" recorded for this album but did not make it and has never been released. I'd love to hear that song. This was such a comeback for Ringo being on Arsenio Hall and the other late night shows where he would do "Weight Of The World"(was our OldFred a co-writer of that song?). Yeah, the album didn't sell like it should have but this is a must own for all of us as Joe noted. BTW, I love Ringo's cover of "Don't Be Cruel," a return of Ringo's great "Matchbox" voice!

No, Ringo has many 4 level songs like Photograph, Back Off Boogloo, It Don't Come Easy, I'm The Greatest just to name a few. Those are all outstanding songs. All I am saying is that Ringo's vocals do not give a lot of support to a song and this song could use some support.

Oy.. sorry... yes, this is #11.
I also started putting the song title in the subject. I don't know if anyone else reads the board like me, but I go to the bottom and click on "100 RECENT POSTS"... so when all these different thread posts rise up, it's hard to know what song everyone's referring to after some time! This way, the title is in everyone's posts.

3 I liked this when I first heard it. Thought it was Ringo's best in a while. Rocks along nicely and good lyrics.

Ringo co-wrote it with a few other cats and the lyrics are real. Several of us have said that it is the only cool "It Don't Come Easy" name check because Ringo was talking in the song("Road") about his battle with alcohol abuse. But "After All These Years" is always yet another highpoint for me on Time Takes Time. Wikipedia says this album is out of print! I better guard my one copy and burn some extra copies.

3 (good). Ringo is in good form and nostalgic mode in this singalong type number. One of many enjoyable tracks from the Time Takes Time album.

This song moves along quite nicely....I don't think there is anything wrong with the vocal, it's better than the vocals on Kiss My Fudge Factory....
I give it a 4

Here are the lyrics...
"After All These Years"
We didn't have the time to think things over, We had a lot of fun, we had some tears. Stepping out of loneliness, Now the road don't seem so long, After all these years.
Rock and roll has got a reputation, Bad boys cause a lot of fear. But i never meant to really hurt you, oh no, no, After all these years.
Travelling the world in a rock and roll band, It's in my blood, it's in my blood. Ooh, but you know, it's good to be back home. Dancing with your sister on a saturday night, It's understood, it's understood. When ev'ry boy and girl, Ooh, was rocking all over the world.
After all these years.
Travelling the world in a rock and roll band, It's in my blood, it's in my blood. Ooh, but you know, it's good to be back home. Dancing with your sister on a saturday night, It's understood, it's understood. When ev'ry boy and girl, Ooh, was rocking all over the world.
We didn't have the time to think things over, We had a lot of fun, we had some tears. Stepping out of loneliness, Now the road don't seem so long, long, long, long, long, After all these years, After all these years, After all these years, After all these years.

A good song from a great album sometimes rates great as well. This songs's average, so I'll bump it up to a 3. Is that Jeff Lynne playing the solo? Yeah, I'll give it a 3. I really enjoyed this album when it came out. Other than Blast From the Past, this was my first Ringo album.

I give it a 4Sorry mate, Ringo doesn't have the nuance or musicality to sing as well as Paul does on that album. I will say that as a Ringo number it is a 3. Comparing him to the others its a 2.

I love this song. I played it for the family on a long car ride and we were all singing it! The lyrics are perfect for Ringo, it's well sung and bops along. Definite 4 stars.

Now this is a good SONG. While his singing here is a bit "dreary", it just has that, oh, I don't know, it has that Ringo charm that fits in well with the lyrics.
This one is also a 3 (maybe a 4 for Ringo).
