3 -- I'm a big fan of this song. I thought it was a nice little hidden gem, being found on the rather obscure BEST OF DARK HORSE album. George was on a roll from 1987 - 1990 and it's a crying shame he didn't tour.

I give this a 3. George is in great voice and should have been touring. The song is interesting in terms of the verse and chorus and the arrangement which is very active and driving. I like that it has so much energy. It is light years away from songs like World of Stone.

Comment and/or Vote on this Solo Song 4=Great 3=Good 2=Average 1=Crap "Poor Little Girl" - George Harrison, Best Of Dark Horse (1989) 3 +. It is a nice George song, with a lot of his best characteristics- though I am hard pressed to dub it "great".

A 3 from me. It is perfect as a new song for a comp but it might have gotten a 2 or 2.5 from me if on Cloud Nine.
It works very well though on this long forgotten comp.

Agree with a 3 (good) rating. I remember being pleased to get a couple of good new songs on the Best Of Dark Horse release. This could have also been included on a two disc version of Let It Roll.

Here are the lyrics...
Poor little girl With her head in the air Theres a poorly sick world all around you
Poor horny boy One thing on his mind That poor little girl He must find you
Chorus: Theres a whole lotta love Shaking inside of me And I must figure out why its there
Theres a bottomless heart Thats hooked into all of you And its wondering how much you care
Poor little girl With a whole in her heart Theres a poorly sick world all around you
Poor horny boy One thing on his mind That poor little girl He must find you
Theres a whole lotta love Shaking inside of me And I must figure out why its there
Theres a bottomless heart Hooked into all of you And its wondering how much you care
Poor little boy Head in a whirl Theres a phony slick world all around you
That poor little girl With her head in the air That poor little boy he must find you
Theres a whole lotta love Shaking inside of me And I must figure out why its there
Theres a bottomless heart Hooked into all of you And its wondering how much you care
Theres a need and desire I have To express whats inside of me I must figure it out while its still there
And an endless amout of Of a joy that you touch me with Thought its almost too much for me to bear
Poor litte girl

I think i'll give the poor horny boy a 3 ...
I think Olivia wanted to give the poor horny boy a smack...
I think Ringo wanted to give the poor horny boy a Liverpool Kiss...

I've always assumed that this was an outtake from Cloud 9, as well (although I believe it also showed up as a B side to "Cheer Down"). If so, I think they made the right choice to leave it off of the album as I can't really think of a song on that album that I'd replace with this one (maybe "Breath Away from Heaven").
So, I'd give it a 2.

I've gotten behind on these. I suppose you can still comment.
This is better than I remembered. Thanks for the revisit.
I give it a 3. I don't like the sax in it, but it's still a good listen.
