4 - I was hesitant to give this a full high rating, but what the hell ... it's F-U-N-!! I love The Traveling Wilburys, and I love these guys having a ball just making up a goofy dance like this.

3 for me. This is a lot of fun, silliness from some musicians who were not known to get silly on their records.
The second Wilbury album has some great songs on it but the consensus from fans and the band is that they missed Roy. I wonder if in hindsight they should have found another member, someone who fit the temperment of those guys and I believe Del Shannon was asked but he died before he could do anything.
Clapton and McCartney were way too uptight and staid to be Wilburys. They didn't need a drummer as they had Keltner as a studio musician.
What about John Fogerty, he was making a comeback back then if I remember right. The voice of CCR might have been cool, he dug George and Dylan.

4--Has any Beatles-related song, before or since, had the word "ass" in it ;D)? Here's a case when a "profanity" was well placed in a song.

4. Fun, Wandering Dingleberry antics.
Del, Mike Nesmith, Dion and John Fogerty would have all made great replacement Wilburies.
Del: "Runner" Wilbury Nes: "Woolie" Wilbury Dion: "Wander" Wilbury John "Bayou" Wilbury

I'd give this 3, mostly for the fun they're having, as the song itself is one of the weaker Wilbury offerings, being somewhat forced.

And, of course, the twee Paul McCartney could NEVER be a Wilbury!

4 This song is a great example of what makes great "rock and roll music" different than "great music". It's like "Twist And Shout", "Fun Fun Fun" "Wild Thing" or "You Really Got Me". None of those are great songs from a pure musical sense, but I'd give them all a 4 for a rating! Great fun and I love hearing them all sing! The original video is much better with many more cameos including Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Fred Savage and (most bizarrely) Milli Vanilli! I couldn't find it for a long time, but a few months ago I found it on YouTube. If I knew how to post on here, I'd post it. Perhaps someone else can find it and post it!

I wanted to bite my lip, get up and dance as Elton used to say. You can't "not" like that song (I like double negatives). Its a 3 for me.
Speaking of who fits into the group, if Dylan hadn't been in the group to begin with, I wouldn't have thought of him as being the right personaltiy type.

I like this song, one of the better songs from Vol.3 - This is a 4 4 me.
The second Wilbury album had too much Petty and not enough Harrison, best song was New Blue Moon.

2 (average). Average song from a less than average album.

Here are the lyrics...
Put your hand on your head Put your foot in the air Then you hop around the room In your underwear Aint ever been nothin quite like this Come on baby do the wilbury twist
Lift your other foot up And fall on your ass Get back up Put your teethi in a glass Aint ever been nothin quite like this Its a magical thing called the wilbury twist
Roll up your rug Dust your broom Ball the jack Howl at the moon Aint ever been nothing quite like this Everybodys trying to do the wilbury twist
Turn your lights down low Put your blindfold on Youll never know Where your friends have gone Could be years before you're missed Everybodys trying to do the wilbury twist
Its a different dance For you to do Spin your body Like a screw
Better not forget it on your shopping list You can stop and buy one Its the wilbury twist

It's a 2 from me they said each song on this album took 5 minutes to write..this song proves they weren't lying..... Doesn't matter -- sometimes you can just have fun. Not everything needs to be a work of art that takes days to write. As a George fan, don't you love seeing George this loose and having a laugh?

Then you haven't listened too closely. About 30 seconds in George sings the verse that starts "Lift your other foot up/Fall on your ass..." He also sings "Ain't never been nothing quite like this" in the final verse. I'm with JoeK on this one. It is fun and fun can be great! If this is crap then so isn't just about every great rock song until around 1965. Your crack about Paul (who has written or co-written more great songs than just about any other artist) is an uncalled for cheap shot too. (there I beat RTP to the punch on that one!)

I will agree with you that this album was nowhere near as good as Volume 1!!!

By the way, I like most of the songs on the second Wilburys album. I think it's just as good as #1, and in some ways even more fun. Only thing is, I wish George had a song to himself like he had with HEADING FOR THE LIGHT off the other album.

This is a hell of a lot better than I remembered it. It's kind of a silly idea, creating a dance but the music rocks and the recording is excellent.
It's not Strawberry Fields great but I'll give it a 3.0.
