4 -- This is one of Ringo's finest solo songs for my money. Love the way he sings it, love the guitar. It's a remake of the 1977 version from RINGO THE 4TH (which I don't feel is as strong a recording).

Here are the lyrics....
If I had the wings of an eagle, Over these broken dreams I will fly. If I could be shot like an arrow. Straight to you, in your arms I will lie. Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I love you so?
If I had the strength of a lion, There'd be no one to keep us apart. And if I was to crack just like thunder, I would shout what I feel in my heart. Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I need you so?
Need you so much, The melody's coming in clear. (so clear) And with your touch, The music keeps going around and around in my ears.
All right! Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I need you so?
If I had to live life without you, I'd be lost like a ship in the night. Your love never gave me no warning, Like a bird I was shot down in flight. Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I love you so?
Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I need you so? (need you so)
Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I love you so?
Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I need you so? (need you so)
Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I love you so?
Don't you know I love you? Don't you know I need you so? (need you so)

A 2.5 from me. The 2012 version is better than the original but I take points off for it being a remake. Do it right the first time Ringo and maybe you would have had a modest hit back then. It is too late for you to in 2012.
I am not as enthused about this song as others whether the 1977 or 2012 versions.

2 for me. Probably one of the better cuts from the 4th, but it just doesn't do a lot for me compared to other songs he could have revisited.

I could give it a 3 as far as Ringo solo tracks go, but overall compared to the rest of the world, I give it a 2.

It's a good remake. Beyond that I've got nothing. 3 (good).

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing an album from Ringo where he re-records some of his overlooked songs (at least ones that deserve to be revisited) and improves upon them. I think "Wings" is a great example of this concept and how it could go well. Of course, this could also be a very bad idea, as I think his remake of "Step Lightly" had none of the charm of the original.
I'd give Wings a 3, by the way.

"Step Lightly" 2012 blows! I can't even find my Ringo 2012 album, so shelved was it.
Maybe Ringo 2013 will be better.

RINGO 2012 was a good Ringo record. Damn fine album. You can't find it, John? I think you're going to have to stop buying new solo Beatles releases. Either that or go endure THRIVING PAIN once more.

The most recent was the non-Target deluxe version of Kiss My Ass that had nothing deluxe about it. Oh yeah, like three downloads of live versions. And I am still bitter that my deluxe Ringo Rama didn't have that bonus video of Ringo and Mark Hudson farting at open flames! ;D

By the way, some fans have made it a big deal that RINGO 2012 has only 9 songs on it, but many, many albums by different artists have only had 9 songs on them. DARK HORSE comes to mind for the Fabs...

DARK HORSE comes to mind for the Fabs... Led Zeppelin IV (InterVeinous drug use?) had only 8 tracks. They were about 5 1/2 minutes long on average. Interesting how the credits for When the Levee Breaks now include Memphis Minnie. Must have had some copyright problems there. Not unusual for LZ. In fact, there is a clip of Pete Towshend on Youtube saying he had no respect for the band which was kind of surprising

Great song. It's loaded with hooks. I like the production. The guitar solo is smokin' hot. Blisteringly nice.
It made me like the original much more than I did. I had listened to the older version maybe closer than the rest of Ringo the 4th to see if it possibly was about the band Wings. I wasn't impressed with it at all. Now IT sounds good.
I'll give this a 3.5. It's no It Don't Come Easy, but it's good.

And now, Bob Dylan is pinching the songs that they pinched.
