2 - I don't hate it, but it's just "there". One of my least favorite tracks from MACCA 2 (which is an offbeat album I enjoy overall).

here are the lyrics..Ev'rybody bogey, a-dig that bogey beat, Man, that bogey rhythm smells so clean and sweet. Ev'rybody bogey, bogey on to the street, Oh, without bogey music my life is incomplete, Without bogey music my life is incomplete.
Everybody bogey, a-dig that bogey beat, Hey, hey, Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, Okay, Oh, oh.
If you little bogeys want to sing along, You've got to clean your bogey act up And learn the bogey song. Without bogey music my life is incomplete, Without bogey music life is incomplete, Without bogey music life is incomplete.
Bogey music, bogey music, Bogey music, bogey music. Alright, here we are now tonight in bogey land.
Bogey music, bogey music.
Well, when the younger bogeys here that bogey sound, Ev'ry little bogey a-got to bogey down. Bogey, man, bogey, Bogey, man, bogey. Bogey, man, bogey on down.
Bogey music, bogey music, Bogey music, bogey music, Bogey music, bogey music, Oh, bogey music, Bogey, man, bogey on down. Bogey music, oh.
All you little bogeys, I want you to sing along, Clean your bogey act up and learn the bogey song. Without bogey music life is incomplete, You know, it...suckers.
Oooh, bogey music, Oooh, bogey music, Bogey music, Bogey music, Bogey music.

1.5 from me. It always sounds like the soundtrack song to a Disney cartoon(like Jungle Book) to me. It would actually work as such.
As a song standing alone on a Paul McCartney album, it is just goofy.

I've been on vacation, so lots of catching up to do! I give this a weak 2. It is an attempt to do something a little different, kind of a failed experiment, but not awful.

If you look up crap in the dictionary...
This is Bogey crap. Can't I give it less than 1?

2.5 - This song's a little quirky weird, isn't it?
This one might have been better it were an instrumental. I like the similar Nobody Knows a lot better.

1 (crap). I was tempted to give it a 2 (average), as I don't think it is completely without value. Paul sings it in a fun, rollicking style. However, the truth is that I have never really liked it anyway. The lyrics are complete drivel.
This song does not feature in my own alternate version of McCartney II:
Coming Up Temporary Secretaary On The Way Waterfalls Nobody Knows One Of These Days
Check My Machine Secret Friend Front Parlour Frozen Jap

Hey, where is RTP? He hasn't weighed in on this one. I just saw this one. Even I don't like this song. This and Dark Room are just dead ends. I give it a 1.

I just don't like this at all and don't know what Paul was thinking.
I'll put on my RTP hat and say that he should have either put on Check My Machine or a shortened version of Secret Friend and replaced a few of the duds on McCartney II.
It's a 1

It's a 1 Um, this is better than Check My Machine or Secret Friend, or any of the new bonus tracks, for that matter. I'm thinking about my earlier comment on this being better if it were an instrumental. Maybe if he'd just had skipped a few "bogie music"s. "Bogieman, bogie, Bogieman bogie, Bogieman bogie on down" (Skip a "Bogie Music") "Bogie Music ...". It's a version of the Lady Madonna Paul voice. I like that.

For me Check My Machine is at least funky and Secret Friend has a nice melody and both have something going for them, they're listenable but Bogey Music is awful, can't believe you like it.

Great idea. Replace this, Dark Room and maybe Front Parlor with Blue Sway, Check My Machine and Secret Friend (edited). The echo in Bogey Music is annoying enough.

No thanks -- I don't like SECRET FRIEND. And I do enjoy the offbeat DARKROOM. BLUE SWAY is okay. But I also like FRONT PARLOUR where it is. I'd still rather keep BOGEY MUSIC on the album.

I only gave it a 2.5. I don't care much at all for Check My Machine or Secret Friend. Check My Machine has the same problem as Bogie Music, it's too repetitive. But Bogie Music es mas macho. Secret Friend is too mellow and too long.

I'm curious. The posters giving this song a 2.5; you feel that this is a better than average song? What might you consider an average song?

From McCartney II - Bogie Music is as good as On the Way and Waterfalls. It's better than Darkroom and One of These Days, which I would put at 2.0. Check My Machine and Secret Friend would fall in 1 to 1.5 zone. I feel the need to say IMO. I never do. That should already be a given but since I'm trashing a couple of songs people here have already said they liked, I'll say IMO.

It would have made McCartney II a much better album IMO. Front Parlour and Bogey Music really drag side 2 down. Blue Sway would have been a great opener for Side 2 and then you can fit in the rest from there, just leave off Front Parlour and Bogey Music.
