2.5 -- I wouldn't consider this 'good', but I get a kick out of it as an album closer. Pretty funny when Ringo comes in.

And the lyrics go something like this.....
mmmm, yeah I see it constantly I know you find it hard to see We need to set a couple things straight I won't take you lying down I know you like to get around You know I hate it when you're late I know how you look when you're tellin' lies You have a good seat, no surprise, yeah!
Who's your daddy? Not you, no Who's your daddy? I'll drop you to the floor Who's your daddy? Check yourself Who's your daddy? Check yourself home Boy not taking you no more
I know you like to see me smile And you love when I'm acting wild You're the man I love to hate You give me chicken wings But baby I want solid rings What's up with your mind? Are you insane? Ohh You know baby when I'm telling lies Now I need no alibis
Who's your daddy? Not you, no more Well I drop you to the floor Come on baby Who's your daddy? I'm not taking it no more Who's your daddy? Not you Who's your daddy? Not you, not you no more Who's your daddy? Who's your daddy? You're the man I love to hate, yes you are.

I'll give it a 3....it's got a good beat and you can dance to it... ;D I also like Joss Stone.

Or as we say in Indiana, "Hoosier" Daddy! ;D When I saw the title to this Thread I thought Joe was taunting us, kind of an "up yours!" for whatever reason. I thought that because at first I didn't recognize the song with that obnoxious title and I thought, "Which of my beloved Beatles would write a song with such an obnoxious title?" Oh yeah, Ringo. I gave it a 1.5. Joss Stone is wasted on this exactly as it was a waste for Ringo to get a then hugely popular Alanis Morissette only to do a lame cover of "Drift Away" for Vertical Man. Joss Stone is kind of yesterday's news anyway with Adele ruling the scene. But Ringo, when you do duets with hot female singers, rise to the occasion and make it an "It Don't Come Easy," "Photograph" or "Don't Go Where The Road Don't Go" worthy song, not lame covers of classic Rock songs or trite new ones. Make it count, Ringo!

Pretty rockin'. I wish Ringo sang a little more on it. I guess like John and Paul, he only sung the part he wrote.
Almost a 4. I'm giving it a 3.5.

2 A fairly average rocker. Ringo's contribution isn't much.

Creepy. Dirty old Ringo. I give it a two. I'm with you. Although Ringo's vocal contribution is slight, that is just as well, as he sounds like some sleazy misbehaving uncle at a family get together. Stone's singing is geat and the song certainly rocks. 2 (average).

Okay, the song was a bit of a joke ending, but I'd still rate it:
3=Good
and in fact, the album I would rate as
RINGO'S BEST
Yes, I think the album is that great!

Welcome back heysaboda!
I think that is cool that you rate "Y Not" as Ringo's best. While not my favorite Ritchie album, it is cool that someone rates it the best.
I do the same with Wings Wild Life for Paul although EA and Chaos give it a strong run for its money and many even disagree with those two albums as being among Paul's greatest.

Welcome back heysaboda! I think that is cool that you rate "Y Not" as Ringo's best. While not my favorite Ritchie album, it is cool that someone rates it the best. Thanks for the welcome back, John. I love everything about Y Not -- and, it seems more "Ringo-y". (I coined a new word.) For example: To anyone who hasn't spun "Time" on Y Not lately, give it a spin again and listen for that long "outro" where Ringo goes nuts on the drums. VERY nice!!! Also...... Everyone Wins, Can't Do It Wrong, Fill in the Blanks, NICE material and Ritchie does it well. -- David
