3 -- While it's not a "conventional song", I think this is a rockin jam that kicks ass!

3. Paul's singing is just incredible on this. I'm struggling to think of anything else like it. The song itself, that is, as a piece of writing, is nothing special.

3. This is a true example of the performance carrying the record, but its damn fun to listen to. Its not much of a song, more of a jam turned into an interesting track.
I could never figure out much of the lyrics except "Your love is not mine, I'm not gonna make it" and "I gotta have some "j"s ..." and someting about Linda later in the song. Paul claimed he used real words in the song, but they don't scan in any familiar pattern for the most part. This is really in his pot period.
The "take it Tony" was for Tony Clarke, the engineer. Alan Parsons was also an engineer on the project and did the final mix for one of the tracks on the album "I Am Your Singer".

1.0
I was horrified when I first heard this, pure garbage. It exists in a vacuum.

1. Just kidding! 4 because I won't be obnoxious and say 1,000,000,000,000,000.00(I guess I just was). Words almost fail me as to "Mumbo." If I am asked by young children, "What is Rock and Roll?", I look at them intently, pause only a moment and say "Mumbo!"The children get it.

This is one I have a hard time giving a score to. In a pure sense it is just a nonsense jam. But I do enjoy it quite a bit. It does rock. I gave it a 3, but this is one where 2.5 would fit for me.
Now the other nonsense song from WILD LIFE ("Bip Bop") I have no use for and a 1 would be too high of a rating!

Awful. What was he thinking, actually releasing it?

2.5. Just enough of McCartney's melodic touches to elevate it above a run-of-the-mill jam. Keep imagining what a classic this one might have been if it had had the other three Beatles to fill out the lesser moments.

Alright, a great one!
It may not be as good as Strawberry Fields, but it's pretty close. Love the lyrics. John can't write like that.
4.0.

I am in the mood for a rousing Mumbo Stomp tonight!
It is a little dry in Indiana and the Mumbo Stomp requires a roaring bonfire to dance naked around but maybe if we are careful.
TGIF!

Will the extended version of "Mumbo" be included in the Paul McCartney collection release? Stay tuned.
