4 -- This has become one of my all-time favorite Ringo songs. I absolutely love the melody, and Ringo's singing on it. Paul plays bass, and it's a great bass line. It also has a very positive sentiment of hope and peace, and although I usually rake Ringo over the coals for constantly "name checking" in his songs, I think the mention of 'John Lennon', "Imagine" and "Give peace A Chance" add to this one.

Crap for me, a numero uno. The lyrics make me vomit.

2.5 (2 for the poll) I'll go right in this middle of the two extremes of JoeK and JSD. A nice song and sentiment. Nice to see someone keeping the spirit of the 60's alive, even if somewhat simplistic both lyrically and musically. it is listenable and might even be a 3 with a stronger vocalist.

It gets a two for being the first original song with the Beatles rhythm section since the soon to be announced secret clean-up and finish up of Now and Then.
All kidding aside, first original with Paul bass and Ringo drum since the Flaming Pie album.

3. And just barely. Nice rollicking bass line and the melody has its moments but some of it is slightly generic.

Here are the lyrics.....
Last night I had a peace dream You know how real dreams can be The world was a better place For you and me can't you see?
No need for war no more Better things we're fighting for No more hunger no more pain I hope I have that dream again
Can you imagine, all of this coming true? It's really up to all of us to do Just like John Lennon said in Amsterdam Conk his bed
One day the world will wake up to see The reality
Last night I had a peace dream You know how real dreams can be The world was a better place For you and me, can't you see?
No need for war no more (Try to imagine) Better things we're fighting for No more hunger, no more pain I hope that dream comes true someday
So try to imagine if we give peace a chance All the world could be living in harmony One day our dream could be reality, reality
Last night I had a peace dream You know how real dreams can be The world was a better place For you and me
(You've got to imagine) No need for war no more (Try to imagine) Better things we're fighting for No more hunger, no more pain We'll make our dream come true someday

It's OK....i can't say much more than that...It'd didn't move me much but it's far from being rank.....It's up there with anything the Rolling Stones did....
I give it a 2

3 but just barely. Ringo's most recent album got reviewed in a recent Rolling Stone and the gist of the review was that Ringo's job was to show us what a great guy Ringo is on every album. Gets a little old after 50 years.

I loved Y Not. It had a lot of excellent songs on it. But it also had some filler. What made a great album was that the filler was very listenable. There was nothing (that I recall) where you'd say, "that stunk!"
This song is that for me. A filler song that's pleasant enough to listen to. I like that Ringo is trying to take up John's peace and love mantra. I think it is very heartfelt and honest.
This song is a 2.5. A 2 for the poll.
Oh, wait a minute, I forgot my Ringo points I was saving! I'll use one here
3.0 for the poll.

Hasn't Ringo been playing this song on his current tour? Man, with all of the songs I'd like to hear from him, this ain't one of them. Embarrassing lyrics.
1 is the loneliest number than Ringo will ever do....

What would be mesmerizing is if Ringo opened a show with "Blindman" and dressed like a bad guy, the rogue cowboy or maybe a mobster or something with no peace signs to be seen during the whole song. That would command attention and be a great concert start. It will never happen. I am more likely to see Paul do "Mumbo" than Ringo do "Blindman."
