This George song would have been a good inclusion on the White album, i'm not sure why the Beatles didn't do anything with it.
Also in the you tube demo i've linked George is singing in a falsetto style that doesn't sound sped up to me
Interesting that the lyrics have the line Get back to where you should be...i wonder if that line inspired Paul to write a tune with a similar line..
If your life's not right, doesn't satisfy you Don't get the breaks like some of us do Better work it out, find where you've gone wrong Better do it soon as you don't have long
Get out of Sour Milk Sea You don't belong there Get back to where you should be Find out what's going on there
If you want the most from everything you do In the shortest time your dreams come true In no time at all it makes you more aware Very simple process takes you there
Get out of Sour Milk Sea You don't belong there Get back to where you should be Find out what's going on there
Looking for release from limitation? There's nothing much without illumination Can fool around with every different cult There's only one way brings result
Get out of Sour Milk Sea You don't belong there Get back to where you should be Find out what's going on there

I bought his Apple album with this song when it first came out on c.d. and I thought it sucked, "Sour Milk Sea" the only song I could stomach.

This George song would have been a good inclusion on the White album . . . There are parts of the song that to me sound like what Savoy Truffle would sound like just on acoustic.

Here is a pretty good attempt at a Cheatleg of Kinfauns mixed with a Lomax less vocal of the Threetle/Lomax studio version.

Yet another example that George was getting close to equal ground with John & Paul by this time!

Yet another example that George was getting close to equal ground with John & Paul by this time! I agree, this is a fantastic song. Another of George's overlooked songs is Its All Too Much which would have been great on Sgt. Pepper if it had been available. I think it was a month or so late. Count me in with those who think George's work with the Beatles has been underrated. I think Don't Bother Me is a quite good song though he should have shortened the bridge or not repeated it as it is a weaker part of the song. But it is damn good for a first try, or at least first recorded try.

I'm not! I prefer George's version to Jackie Lomax, but I don't care much for either.
Long, Long, Long on the other hand...

Sour Milk Sea and Not guilty both should have been on THE WHITE ALBUM. George's writing was worthy of 6 songs on a double album by this time.
Add two each from "All Things Must Pass", "Isn't It A Pity", "Hear Me Lord" and "Let It Roll" to ABBEY ROAD and LET IT BE as well.
Of course then George would have only had a single solo album to follow (and he'd have had to pick a different title!))
