Does anybody know what Yoko's relationship with Sam Havadtoy was all about? He was obviously gay as can be. And, like most of Yoko's relationships, he started out as a paid employee. I was just wondering, because it struck me that while John was alive, Yoko's life was pretty much an open book and you can find out just about anything she was doing or thinking on any given day of her life. But after John's death its like she's erected a wall of privacy (and good for her) where the public only finds out what Yoko wants them to find out. For instance, while I was googling around for info on Havadtoy I came upon this tidbit I'd never heard about. A plot by her long-time driver Koral Karsan to supposedly extort $2 million out of her by threatening to kill her and Sean (he denied the charge and was found guilty of a much lesser charge). Has anybody heard about that one? www.nytimes.com/2006/12/15/nyregion/15yoko.html

www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/the-beatles/6196840/Yoko-Ono-still-walking-on-thin-ice.htmlAfter Lennon’s murder, Ono unravelled. She turned to a friend, the interior designer Sam Havadtoy, for help. He moved in, and stayed for nearly two decades. 'John was a very strong presence in the family, and he just suddenly left,’ she explains. 'And we were not prepared for it. Sam was a very special person who was very good with Sean – and I needed some support as well.’ The relationship was platonic, she says, and contrary to some media reports, they were never married. 'It was a friendship,’ she says firmly. 'A very good one.’ Now, she says, she can’t imagine being in a couple. 'I’m pretty independent. I feel that being alone is very important for me at this point in my life, and I’m enjoying it, too. But I was not in that position at the time, and Sam gave me a kind of protection. It was not quite what John was giving me, but I needed somebody who was there, and who was also very intelligent, quick-minded and capable. Sam was that.’

Acebackwards opines that he was otherly oriented.
Me? Well, someone once I asked me if I knew the difference between ignorance and apathy. I replied, "I don't know and I don't care," and that's exactly where I am on which side Sam Havehadatoy bats for (hmm, maybe his name is a clue as to whether he was of any assistance in assuaging Yoko's frustrations...)
